Shaving the shaft & balls

Hey all; I am new here and I first off would like to say hello to all the regulars.

I have a question concerning shaving my shaft and balls. I have been shaving for years and I have always used a razor with some hot water and Edge shaving cream. I just shaved a few days ago. And for some reason a small bump on the underside of my shaft about midway down developed the day after I shaved. A few friends said it was probably just an ingrown hair. But I was just curious what this sounds like to any of you here.

I am sorry to be so descriptive about this, but I am just trying to speak my pquestion about this.

Ouch, Mr Night!

Sounds like an ingrown hair, especially if it is a little tender and inflamed. Remember: don't shave against the grain and that will help you avoid this problem (although if it's the first time for this to happen, you are probably doing it right for the most part!)

I think you'll be fine and I agree with the above message. I know I use a Mach 3 razor on mine every time and if done carefully you can get a very close shave, but I also use my clippers to trim it quite a bit before I use the razor. I don't know how hairy you get around your shaft and balls, but it would help your razor work a bit if you can trim it down enough so that the razor can finish the job. Anyway, however it turns out your lady (or the ladies) will truly appreciate the effort.

Yep, definitely an ingrown hair. I would recommend plucking it out (as painful as it may sound, the consequences could be much worse).

Thank you so much Doctor, Scully, and Shelby. I do appreciate your comments.
I must admit that it does not hurt, but it did seem to swell a bit more since last night. But at the same time; I did notice a hair protruding from the bump and I am assing that is the source of the problem.

Shelby; it does sound painful to pluck it out, but I will do so to get rid of this if in fact this is the problem.

P.S. What do you mena about consequences?

Jeez...I'm glad you came here first. I should have before I made an appt. with my dick doc about "little red bumps" and said something like "I haven't put my self in any position where this could happen". I suspect that it is an ingrown hair.

The color is pretty much the color of my skin. It is just like the size of a pimple.
I took your advice Shelby and got the hair with some tweezers. My Gosh; It was just a stuble, but once I got it out; it was 2-3 times the size in length under the skin. It is still swollen, but I guess that will take a few days to go down.
