Vasectomy

Hey got a question I am going to the uraligist for the first time to see about a vasectomy. what should i expect? has anyone had the proceedure done and can you tell me what to expect? Does it hurt and for how long? this is a big decision for me/us and i am quite nervous about it.

My hubby got one about 4 years ago. Just be careful of that "little prick" they say you will feel... hurts a bit more than they say. I can't really speak for him on the pain factor but from what he said about it overall it wasn't that bad. Expect a few days of recovery and a week or so of no heavy lifting...

I had one done in March '96, and have never regretted it. Very easy procedure, virtually painless. The only real discomfort I experienced was getting a muscle relaxant shot in the ass, entire cheek got cramped up.

Anyway, my doctor performed it right in his examining room, took about 45 minutes total. A brief synopsis of what he did, he made a small insertion on each side of the scrotum, cut out about an inch of vas on each side, cauterized the ends, and clamped them off with titanium clips. (which will outlast you and me both).

Have two or three bags of frozen peas ready for when you get home, and keep them applied to the affected area. Using this method, I was unaware of when the freezing wore off, no pain. During the next several days, you will get somewhat tender, and there'll be considerable bruising. Wearing several pairs of underwear will ease the discomfort of moving around, but DO NOT do anything physically demanding or stressful, that's what'll cause any possible problems.

As a guide, I can tell you that while I was done on a Friday, the following Tuesday brought the most discomfort, but again it wasn't excessive. Just be careful to take it easy in the days after the surgery, no matter how good you might be feeling.

Keep in mind that it may take several months before you're safe from impregnating someone. You need two consecutive tests with a zero sperm count to be considered sterile. In my own case, although I was done in March, it was July before I was 'clean'.

When you first got into swinging with the individual person your with right now,,,how did it happen,,,, where you there or did you hear a story when she got home????? Was it the first time you got into swapping or did you do it with your first marriage????

I also had a vasectomy in May of '93. Was the best thing I've ever done for our playing! It was not bad at all, I just took an entire weekend to lay around the house and rest up. Monday I was right back at work and I've never looked back since!

OK, in answer to the question about swinging, we took the plunge together in a foursome. It was planned out very carefully because we wanted our first time to be a great experience. Well, for several days and nights, it was just exactly that.... almost nonstop hot sex!! We decided that it was definitely something we'd love to do AGAIN.... AND AGAIN!!

Thanks all for the feedback, I'm feeling more comfortable now, still a little nervous but i'm sure that it will be fine. Pain I can deal with, its the loss of reproductive ability that has me concerned now. But hey three is enough right,(too many sometimes lol)thanks again all it helped.

Hi, I'm the hubby of JustAskJulie. I had it done about 4 yrs ago. I had asked as many people as I could what it was like before I did it, & they all said it was easy. Basically, I took a relaxer (with a beer) about an hour before procedure. I got into office & Doc gave me 3 shots in each side of scrotum. In a few minutes I was numb. He cut a slit in each side, then snipped, tied & burnt the tubes. It didn't hurt that bad. They will tell you to wear a jock strap for a few days. Take my advice, wear it for a few weeks. I tried going a day with out it & it hurt like hell. I was back to work in 3 days, but no heavy lifting, which made it difficult as I'm a mechanic. All in all, it's very easy, plus insurance paid for most of it.

Just got mine this morning. As Forrest Gump would say, "I've only got one thing to say about that." Ouch

The doctor gave me a sample cup and told me to bring in a semen sample in 3 months or 10 ejaculations, which ever comes first. I'm hoping that it doesn't take me 3 months to be able to cum 10 times.....

yes it does hurt my sympothies are with you. Frozen peas are great. [lol]

My instructions are to bring in one sample in 3 to 4 weeks, after 12 orgasms (1/6th the way there) [Smiley_sex]

and another 3 to 4 weeks after that, just to be safe

after talking to many who have had this done and lots of reserch, this is recomended as you can pass the first test and fail the second. we can't wait for those tests to come back with good results

I can't remember how many times I was told to cum before I gave a sample, but it was about 3-4 weeks each time. It took about 3 months to completely heal though. Also.... wear a jock strap! Trust me! I was told to wear it for the first week. I tried going without the 2nd week & was in total pain. I wore it almost the entire 8 weeks. The whole thing was worth it. No worry about the pitter patter of little feet.
