Saw this and thought we should respond. With swinging, the best thing we could say is take your time. About being self concious about your appearance, both of us are both on the big side, and we personally prefer either lights out, or soft lighting, but we have met some people in the lifestlyle who have made us very comfortable even with more light in the room.

As far as jealousy, unfortunatly it does exist in swinging, but from our own expiriences, swinging has brought us closer together, and has made sex between us even better. Not because we are trying to make a competition about it after we have been with another couple, but it has increased the intamacy between us. We had someone ask us once if the reason we do this is because we are insecure about ourselves, which we said no, because if there was any insecurities about us involving sex, we would never have gotten started in it in the first place.

From personal expirience, we have made some of the best friends in our lives through swinging, some we met and we felt more comfortable just as friends, and some that we are very close friends with and that we do swing with.

We want to wish you the best of luck, and don't worry, it's not unusual to be nervous, and have questions. We sure had a ton of them when we first started, once again, good luck. We sure hope that you enjoy the lifestyle, it can be an extremely fun one.
