How Facebook changed some "Definitelys" into "No ways"

So we have a number of Facebook friends that are swingers. The Facebook scene is 100% vanilla for us, but like many swingers we do include those friends and acquaintances as well.

One unexpected side effect of including swingers on your Facebook account: Some of the ones we were interested in playing with, or had played with before and wouldn't have minded a repeat performance, have become less desirable in our eyes.

The biggest drawback has been the drama some of them manage to share on FB. I am amazed at how much one or two get involved in their teenage kids' drama. Frankly, it's weird, and we would be blissfully unaware of this if we had never added them on FB.

The second biggest drawback is how negative some are. When nine out of ten updates are about how shitty your daily life is, then it might be time to make a change. We know it causes us to change our list of people to do.

The biggest sin for me? Copy/Pasting urban legends and hoaxes that are easily debunked by spending 20 seconds on Snopes. C'mon man!

On the flip side: We also have several friends that have become even more attractive due to their FB shenanigans. Wit, wisdom and interesting posts and links my our naughty parts tingle. Thankfully those are still plentiful.

Sometimes ignorance really is bliss! Good in bed doesn't mean interesing on facebook!

But, on the bright side, finding you really like the person, of folks you've really enjoyed the bodies of, is very rewarding.

It sounds like you're narrowing down the quantity of your playmates but really improving the quality!

My experience is the same. Facebook seems to reveal some ugly stuff when peoples' inner thoughts are hung up on the clotheslines to dry (or get rained upon). Those who really are beautiful inside tend to show on the outside too.

We made a DUMB newbie mistake of adding the first couple we chatted with/ connected with on FB prior to our "date" Then when we had a not so great time, and knew we never wanted to see them again, we had them on our FB friends OOOOPS! The woman actually unfriended us both, which was fine, I think the guy and I are still friends, but he isn't on there much, so it hasn't been an issue. we did add another couple that we never did play with, but are genuinely friends with now, but we for sure aren't going to add anyone BEFORE meeting them again!

We keep our vanilla and swinging lives completely separate. I don't FB with people I work with either...

But yes, FB gives you a view of some people who just share too much and are too negative or have drama.

I friended a cpl on FB and the wife was seeing Pete on the side (agreed upon). The nights she was with a man other than her husband she would post on FB how much she loved her husband and how awesome he was. It was kind of sickening but funny. When we realized how often she was posting we saw she had a large mix of guys on the side. We had originally talked about having a kind of closed friendship so we could bareback etc-- we found her a bit too active to feel comfortable with. There were also the cluster party fucks too. Her criteria for bareback was 'when she was comfortable with it' . She didnt realize how she shot herself in the foot.
And also she would post about 15 times a day about anything-- 'i forgot to buy the sugar', 'time to eat lunch'.... maybe that part was even worse!!! lol

God I hate that. I always make a point of pointing out their fakeness- with link. same thing with those stupid email hoaxes. WHY do people spam their entire address book without doing the courtesy of snoping first!!

We definitely never become friends on FB with anyone from the lifestyle. We only have 1 person and that's because we've been friends for almost 6 years.

So true. We have very few swinger friends that are also on our FB, but we've seen both happen.

A lot of couples we know have a separate couples profile for swingers & swinger groups. Some of our LS friends are FB friends... but that's because we view them as not-just-swinger friends and we do vanilla stuff with them. We haven't yet created a couples account on FB... but we might.

I was thinking about this thread today, and I wish I would have gone with the positive aspect as the lead instead of the negative. For every person that has become a "No way", there is one that has become a "Want, now!".

Smart, witty and impish ladies really get my motor running. There are a few on FB that have proven to fit this description quite well.

Perhaps this is why some people get into the lifestyle. It's the only time they get to have fun!

Our close lifestyle friends are on FB and it reaffirms what amazing people they are. We have some good ones who are kind and just amazing people.
