Closetswinger said in another thread: "I have found that swingers are a VERY ACCEPTING, non judgemental (in most ways) group of people." And I have certainly found that to be true. And there's something about being with other swingers that is so liberating. For most of my life, anyway, I had to hide the fact that I wanted a lot of sex with a lot of different partners, as if it were something shameful. But when I'm in a group of swingers, this side of myself is not only warmly accepted, it's actually seen as something good. As I tell my partner, her insatiable libido is one of the things I love about her. |

Swingers are very open minded and accepting, until you are doing something they don't approve of or like in which case they are no longer very open minded and spark long rants about them not being open minded and accepting on this forum.

| Agreed. I've been flamed on another forum site because the way I swing is not quite the same as the way the majority of people on that site swing. In other words, they were swinging, I was a slut. While we have many wonderful swinging friends who ARE open-minded and accepting, and this site has many who are as well, there are lots and lots of swingers out there who have a very limited definition of what swinging is and don't hesitate to measure others by it.

We welcome people to be open about themselves, and in most cases, everyone in this lifestyle is accepting, except, when it comes to religon and politics.. But then thats the case in most cases anyway.. PB&J LABELS are for CLOTHING AND MEDICINE and since this is a SEX oriented site, Who cares what you are wearing just get it OFF! ANd unless its VIAGRA, CIALIS, LAVETRA.. follow the dosing instructions.. and TELL EM MOVE ON.. |

We thought all swingers were super open-minded and accepting when we started. But, as the layers were pulled back, and conversations were extended into other areas, it became apparent that this wasn't true, at all. It's been said that swingers look just like a PTA meeting. That's true also for for the way they act, IMHO.

(him) Don't know, we have met just as many jerks 'in the lifestyle' as we have in real life, especially men (including the male half of a few couples) But when we do meet nice ones I will agree, they are open and honest and it adds a lot to the mix. |

I like people who are different from mainstream society. Swingers and people in the pits at race tracks are. What groups of people can you add? Alura |

| Us too. They can be interesting on several levels. Quote:
-Our gay friends (most of them anyway). Not for the obvious difference. They just tend to have a different gear of "cool" that we enjoy being around. I would say 15 or 20 years ago, I would have added Motorcycle Owners to the list. I don't think that fits anymore. Sorry gang, you've been mainstreamed in the last few years. "Mobile gentrification" as it were. ![]() Good post Alura! I think it would make a great thread in its own right.

Thanks, Two4youinswva! I have to agree totally with you on horse owners and motorcyclists. It's true that bikers have changed in recent years. With masses of Doctors, Lawyers, Merchants and Chiefs riding Harleys, the cross-section of the people in the sport has changed. Not only do cowboys and cowgirls have a different outlook on life, they tend to be physically attractive. One seldom sees an overweight horseman or woman, especially among bronc busters and barrel racers. Alura |

I really like this thread! Although I agree, we have met some swingers who are judgmental (which is hilarious to us!) and think everyone should swing the same way they do, we have also met a few really great people who think outside the box. As for groups of people we like (the horse owners, bike riders, etc.) I guess I don't really make any assumptions based on what people like to do or look like. I really want to jump up and down and clap my hands when I meet someone who shocks my socks off by being a truly free thinker, non judgemental type person who truly desires to get to know people and learn new points of view. Having said that, I just described myself pretty closely...lol. We seriously look like the average couple with three kids, two dogs and a house. We do all the "normal" family/kid/school stuff, but obviously we are swingers and we really just don't think of things in the same way others do. We are always, as we like to say, just a little off center. I truly enjoy meeting people who are not necessarily just like us, but who lean towards the odd, and feel free to live the life that makes them happy ( no matter what that is, unless it's illegal), and encourage others to do the same. |
