Bravo to Club owners

After watching the documentary "American Swing" I have to take my hat off to club owners everywhere.

We go to clubs and play, but have not thought about, in much detail, what it takes to provide us with that playground.

All the hurdles, attacks and bureaucracy they have to put up with to provide a location to meet is astounding. If there is that much BS to deal with in NY City, I can only imagine what is like in the more conservative parts of the country.

As for the Levinson himself (the person that stated Plato's Retreat) he was a bit of a narcissist and did some really stupid things. But the media was all over him and took every opportunity to attack the lifestyle.

Anyone who wants to open a lifestyle club needs very deep pockets and a bevy of good lawyers. They also need a manager who can see to the safety of the guests while seeing to their desires as well and they need to hire a courteous and unobtrusive wait and bar staff as well. Even with all the above coming together, there is still a great deal of financial risk involved in owning a lifestyle club. Of course, if the club becomes a success, its like owning a mint. We have often wished that we had the seed money and the legal connections to open a club here in SWFLA. Sadly, without lots of $$$ or investors, we just keep wishing.
