I got these books in order explore the possibility of entering the "lifestyle" with my wife. I guess each book approaches the subject differently but mainly on style and not substance. Since I don't know your motive for looking into swinging ie, historical roots of the practice vs the description of various forms of swinging vs the best way to approach your significant other concerning the subject then I can't recommend one over the other. I used these books to both educate myself on the lifestyle and ways to expand our sexual horizons. There was nothing in any of the books that disuade me from looking into the lifestyle. For me once I was convinced that I thought swinging would be something we could both enjoy and knowing my wife's initial reluctance on engaging in public displayes of affection I used parts of each book to develop the right vocabulary as to how to approach this subject with the Mrs. I have been at this for about two and a half years but one of the things I learned from Ms Thomas' book is that men need to learn that virtue of patience. Sorry to ramble on but if I had to make a recommendation I would say that Exhibitionism for the Shy is a good pre-swinging book in that it will give you ways to get your significant other more receptive to exploring new sexual boudaries, the books by Ed Danna were good in that they describe the different aspects of swinging but they got somewhat dogmatic (anti-religious...) but I found Taylor's book to be right on target for my needs at this stage. |
