They don't see themselves as being involved with swinging to the degree of calling it a lifestyle. Our guess is many of the same people who object to the term lifestyle, also are concerned with not being seen as "bed hoppers". Both terms are seen in a negative light for the same reason.

| Swingers Board Addict | To us what makes this our Lifestyle as well as "The" Lifestyle is that very openness that people we meet have. We like the idea that we don't have to guard ourselves as much due to possibly offending someone. Think of it this way, when you've had sex with someone or their partner, what is there that you CAN'T discuss... ![]() Cheers!

| Swingers Board Addict | Wow. Just wow. To think that my words caused you to make such a major life decision is, frankly, somewhat intimidating. I am at a complete loss for words, and usually the only time that happens is when I'm sleeping. I hope you are doing what's right for you, from what I've seen I think it is. If not, I'm gonna have a seriously guilty conscience. And just for the record, when I said "put off" I didn't in any way mean offended, just a bit shocked that a swinger didn't know anyone openminded. I used to live in your neck of the woods, beautiful country. I say again, I wish you luck, if I can be of any help please do let me know, publically or privately. |

![]() We don't get hung up on the terms. People know what you mean when you say Lifestyle. If that doesn't mean exactly the same thing to them that it does us, no big deal. All each is other is trying to do is find out if the others are in the game, in that context doesn't matter if you plan your life around it or just get out a couple times a year. | |

That being said, when tend to use "swinger" more often then "lifestyle" (and we've never used "lifestyler".) That's how we refer to ourselves and others who do what we do... as swingers. We'll use "lifestyle" when we're in a semi-public location (say, a booth of a restaurant) and even though we're trying to keep quiet, saying to word "swinger" is like screaming "Hi Jack!" in a plane.
