Playing around with Google about Swinging I found this book title mentioned, "Getting Your Wife or Girlfriend To Become A Swinger." and read some of the reviews. It sounds too good to be true... Does anyone on this forum have any experience with this book? If so, would you post your "Book Review" here? |

I'm not familiar with this book, but I will say that thanks to the power of the internet and e-books, it is easier than ever for someone to self-publish whatever they want to print... and when you come up with a catchy title, even easier to sell it.

Julie, I am not sure it is appropriate on your forum or not...if it is not please remove this and accept my apology. I do not have any financial interest in this site. This is the site location for this book: Getting Your Wife or Girlfriend To Become a Swinger I would like to see posts from anyone having any knowledge of this book. Some books and sites are legit and some are not. |

I've seen this on Amazon as well. It has a five-star rating from three reviewers, but two of those three have only one review to their name (both for this book) and the other one has given five-star reviews to every book he's reviewed, so take that with a grain of salt. |

y'know, it may have a couple valid points but for a sane and rational person that is in a healthy relationship to begin with, in the time it would take to read that sophomoric book they would get a hundred times more honest and reasonable information here on this board.

With a title like that, the market they're trying to attrack is men. If a hubby brought that book home and slapped it on the coffee table in front of his wife, I think he may be shooting himself in the foot. If he already feels he has a resistant wife (which is implied by the title), she'll be more resistant after viewing the cover. It may be a worthwhile book, but before the couple will benefit, they must both be open to reading it. LM |

I personally have no use for a book that tells others how to "convince" others to do what they want in their life. This lifestyle is really for very, very few people in life. Convincing those that really have no interest is what adds to the drama and the stories of how the "lifestyle" ruined their lives. This Lifestyle has never ruined anyones life, the people involved are the ones that ruined it. Some things are better left unwritten. I feel this is nothing but a money grab for those that will not accept the fact their wife does not want sex with other people. Just my personal thoughts on the issue. |

If I was going to finish the line to the title of your thread,"Getting Your Wife or Girlfriend To Become A Swinger" is as easy as winning the lottery. Both spouses have to be open to the idea to want to try swinging. It's not meant for everyone and certainly some wives want no part of it. Some husbands, as well. |

That's true. I have a female friend (whom I've known for years and is one of the only vanilla friends we have who know we're swingers) that wants to try it out, but her husband wants no part of it.

To me, a book like that (based on the implication of the title) is pointless. Swinging only really works if BOTH partners want to participate. You can lead your spouse/SO to swinging, but you can't make 'em play. A more useful tome would be one that describes how to get started in the lifestyle if both partners are interested--perhaps a compilation of posts from the Curious About Swinging and New to Swinging forums here on Swingersboard. =) |

If it sounds too good to be true... Don't forget the other two books in the triology - How to pick up woman by Handsa Lot. How to increase the size of your penis by Litle Peker. You can find them in the fiction aisle next to the books on How to Become a Millionaire. | |

I'm still waiting for "Swinging For Dummies" to come out.

I purchased this book as well as "Recreational Sex". "Together Sex" and "Considering Swinging". I found the "Getting your wife..." to be the most helpful in my situation. The book is a bit pricy about $40 from Amazon. It is allegedly written by women who were themselves relcuntant at first about getting involved in the Lifestyle. It is best suited for the guy, like me, whose wife is not dead set against trying something new but would like to approach the Lifestyle with as much information as possible. For example it suggests that the husband actually be prepared to answer the obvious question as to "Why do you want to swing?". If your wife is somewhat reluctant it would be very helpful for you to have some response that is tailor made to make her comfortable.
