WS, I have to ask, based on this guys reaction, do you really care what he thinks?

We've gotten to the point that, outside of certain family members and work, we make little to no effort to hide our lifestyle. Not that we're walking around in "I swing" shirts (well, not every day anyway), but at the same time, anyone who would be judgmental about it simply has no place in our lives.

Our friends know, our neighbors know, just about every person we have a social relationship closer than an occasional "Hi, how are you?" knows, and were anyone to ever react judgmentally, they'd simply be no longer our friends.

Gay's went through the same discrimination we still endure, and the beginning of the end for them was when they decided, en masse, that they weren't going to hide it anymore, and whosoever didn't like it, tough shit. I think we swingers should consider adopting a similar attitude.

On edit, to comment on the universal swingers sign, I'd love to have one, my concern would be that it would become known among non-lifestylers. Not that I care about some stranger in the mall knowing what my bracelet, or ring, or whatever meant, but that non-lifestylers would start wearing it rendering it meaningless.

My point there was that for someone to be screaming for equal rights and be recognized for being different, it was pretty damn arrogant of them to judge us. And for the record, I have an equality sticker on the back of my car and fly it proudly. Even if someone like him will be judgmental, I won't. I will fight for his rights even though mine grosses him out. And if you knew me, you'd know I care very little what many people think of me.

Mr. WS

A timely update on this topic. I just spoke with Mrs. knb, she had a late business dinner tonight and is now headed home. Well, it must have been quite the interesting conversation as it seems she outed herself to her coworkers. I haven't heard the full story yet, but it seems there wasn't so much as a single bad reaction. Perhaps we swingers have a tendency of being a tad overprotective of our secret identities.

In fact, now that I think about it, we have yet to have a single person who has responded negatively to the news.

We outed ourselves to our co-workers years ago. We get more curiousity questions than you would believe. And a few have gotten involved. I think people as a general rule don't care what you do with your personal life.

And even if we were... how would you handle that when you bumped into another swinger who's out and about like you? Exchange business cards and a knowing glance?
That's no problem - don't want to be identified, don't wear the logo/symbol. Nobody is suggesting that swingers be branded or anything. I think the original point is a valid one - that it would be nice if there was a symbol or something that swingers could wear or display if they chose to that would let other swingers know that they were also a lifestyle couple. When, where, how, and why you wore or displayed that symbol would be up to you.

Wear a swingersboard shirt. Make it the new symbol. A new grass roots movement. Yeah!!!

Now it's official. We have a symbol.

Julie sometimes has contests here and she has been known to give away a couple of t-shirts.

Ok, without looking up at the top of the page, what is the swinger's board logo?

NO, DON'T LOOK!

Gotcha...!

Seriously though, and I don't mean anything by this at all - I'm just curious. How many of us (other than Julie that is) would recognize the Swinger's Board logo without the words "Swingers Board" beneath the graphic? I'm still pretty new, despite my sign up date, so I might not recognize it upon first glance. I'm not suggesting anything - just curious as to how many of us really pay attention to our surroundings, or things we see a lot.

There are currently two contests going. Also, you can earn one by hitting 100 posts (if you haven't already hit that mark). Keep an eye on the announcements forum for new contests.

I have seen a "couple symbol" over lap another couple symbol that a friend of mine made some time ago. It look very good.
