This is a discussion on "Best used before NOV 05" - Have you gone beyond your swinging "freshness" date? within the General Swingers Stuff forums, part of the Swingers Topics category; I was dying for something sweet to eat today and there didn't seem to be anything in the cupboard......

Join Date: Jan 2004 Posts: 8,547 Location: On the couch Status: Married to Mr LM | I was dying for something sweet to eat today and there didn't seem to be anything in the cupboard...then I came upon a box of cornmeal and got real excited because I love cornbread and haven't made it in forever. It would be so good on this snowy day, hot out of the oven with butter and honey. Then I looked closer to see that the box said, "Best used before NOV 05" I tossed it in the trash and decided to suck down some honey straight out of that squeezable little bear to satisfy my sweet tooth. Why this event made me think about swinging I have no idea, but it did. I thought about what if we had started swinging earlier in our life. Would our expiration date be longer away? Would the "freshness" of it last longer if we had started earlier in life? When will our time be up? I decided it hasn't so much to do with age, but more with our experiences within swinging, and whether we want to continue to swing. As long as it feels "fresh" it will be fun. Do you think about when your "best used by" date will be? Have you stamped yourself with one, waiting for that day to come? What are your criteria for continuing to swing, or deciding to quit? LM |

| Swingers Board Addict | As long as our friends continually engage us, we don't see us ever going stale. They always make us feel that we have no expiration date.

But to answer your actual question, I haven't given our "expiration date" any thought. But it seems to me the time to stop would be when it's no longer fun for us. =)

We used to make a lot of contacts on that site from 2002 - 2005, now we hardly make any. Recently, most of our luck has been through AFF, a site we previously disliked. Although there is one such lady who regularly attends our quarterly parties, swingers over 60 appear to be rare. One of us has a 53rd birthday coming up, so based on that criterium, we have seven more years before we "expire."

| Julie's Helper | Ummmmm, warm corn bread It has been that kind of day Oh, O.k. I'm back now. hummm, let me see.... expiration dates ![]() I don't seem to smell bad... I don't think I'm discolored... I think I'm just going to age a little more like a good wine But now I will have to go to the kitchen and check Mrs.fun. You know, first ill have to squeeze a little for freshness, then sniff around for sweetness, then i think ill have to undress her because expiration dates may be just under the panty line..... I mean, because of your thread, I should follow up on this ![]() Thank you LM.

Seriously, JoAnn was telling me that this same thought came to her mind this very afternoon while she was driving down the highway. We all know that we have an expiration date. We have no idea when ours might be. Is 60 really the new 40 like people say?

| Better than Ice Cream | Actually, the first thing we plan to do when we're put in a rest home is reserving the community room the first weekend of each month for a "meet & greet". Guess our private room will have to serve as a hospitality suite. ![]() |

![]() We're just getting started, but really like the idea of narrowing the field to a few close friends at some point. I hope to be like my sexy grandmother, who in her late 70's refused a wealthy man's proposal because he didn't like sex anymore. ![]() Mrs. D

| Julie's Helper | Expiration dates... there really aren't any. My natural mother and father have had an on-going affair for 54 years. They are both in their late 70s now, and they still have an on-going relationship, meet up at least once a week, and make love. It gives me inspiration that I have many more years to go. S

Male - half of a novice swinging couple SLS Name:Bruce_Melissa Blog Entries: 11 | Like a nice wine - early on, it's a little rough around the edges then smooths out into a desirable experience. We beginners are often in a hurry to get to that comfortable spot, perhaps at the cost of loosing some "freshness". We're at a spot now where the stomach butterflies feel good and we're confident the event is likely to be fun. Maybe we should combine house parties and tupperware parties to preserve the freshness. ![]()

Once you do that they will almost always go out of date and expire. Last edited by VegasLee : 02-06-2008 at 09:50 PM. Reason: spelling |
