You can never win playing the coulda shoulda woulda game. There was a perfectly good reason you didn't start swinging earlier than you did. I don't know what that reason is of course but I don't doubt for a second that it was a perfectly good reason. You also started when you did for a perfectly good reason. swinging is about looking forward to the next night out and getting all giddy and excited and playing all the what-ifs through your head. Then when the big day comes it is about the fun and excitement of the moment. Then when that day is past it is about the turbo charge that comes from feeling alive and energized. At no point is swinging about looking and back and playing coulda shoulda woulda. Now as far as expiration date I'm afraid we didn't come with one of those from the manufacturer at all. We came from the factory with a need to be loved and respected and to be touched and give and receive warmth and affection. We were also designed to be sexual from birth to death and while that process evolves and changes throughout our life time it never expires. We may go to our grave wrinkled and flabby and our parts may not work like they did in our prime but we still crave the feeling of flesh on flesh and to feel another warm body against us. To answer your questions - no I have not thought about a freshness date nor will I. If someone else thinks I am no longer fresh and doesn't want me that is their perogative, I'll just move on to the next. My criteria to swing is that my partner and I want to and that we each have a breath of life left in us. If we decide we no longer with to and we want to guit we will quit at that time and not before. |

You may have to take a break from swinging to re-new the freshness. Some of the breaks are forced on you, some you may have to impose on yourself. Then you can have the different levels of taking a break. The past couple of years for us have been really hard personally (wife in college, Katrina, health). So we don't get out as often, but I still volunteer here. I also used to volunteer to help the local swing club here (that's alot of commitment). When things settle down and it appears to be happening by summer, we will get out and participate more. So things will be fresh again for us.

![]() I totally agree with this. Stuff happens, and breaks are needed at times. I think that the best analogy for this is that rather than like a sack of meal with an expiration date stamped on it, we are rechargable batteries. As long as we can recharge, the life of the battery is indefinite. | |
