"Mixed" couples? Swinger & Vanilla

It may be interesting to hear from others who come to swinging, as a couple, with different histories. Let me explain: DD and I have been married six years, together just a few months longer than that. I was active in the lifestyle before we met, for almost a decade. DD was not. She was informed of my past very early in our relationship. It was something she found “intriguing.”

As our relationship evolved the opportunity came along to explore expanding our sexual play to involve another couple. DD is by nature a conservative person, and while she ultimately enjoys the thrill of adventure, she is very cautious about taking the initial steps. However, once she dips her toe into the water...away she goes!

What is your story?

We are one of those couples. I was experienced from my previous marriage and beyond and he was brand new to the idea when I told him about it 2 years ago as we started dating again. Luckily, he is very open-minded to start and the biggest reason I had to tell him early on is because of my involvement with this site. So whether he decided he would be interested in pursuing swinging or not, he had to at least be ok with the idea that I run a site on the topic. He read a lot and asked a lot of questions and after a while we even made our way to a swinger club and met some other swingers where he got a chance to see that they were normal people just like everyone else. We went to a few more events and checked out an on-premise club and we have moved slowly.

Even with my past experience I feel like a newbie too because this is a new situation. Even though I've been through it all before it was different then. So now as we go I still wonder if I might even have doubts or be jealous or how I might feel to see him do things. And I worry a lot about him and how he is taking things, reacting to things, etc. The upside is that we have great communication and we talk about everything. The other upside is that we probably the most well-prepared "newbies" that ever hit the seen.

When he mentioned about his past, I raised my eyebrows in a non reactive way. But inside my stomach lurched with a sudden case of the horneys.
I thought I was a slow started into the lifestyle, but you ask around and you will see that I moved fast for a first timer.
I have had several "encounters" but I am far from being a "true swinger". I'm still kinda needy.
Maybe I need more experiences.....any takers?
I am learning how to flirt as well. It is a bit of a joke how lame I am at flirting.

I am still reading and learning, my SO has very little intrest in this lifestyle. I however am eager to get involved a little deeper.

Just a view from a "lurker". I wish I had more to add to the conversations that happen here.

I guess we kind of went back and forth on this. I never considered it at first. Amy was way more sexually experienced than I was. After her first bi experience, it never occured to her to go further, but I did. After we tried both kinds of threesomes, I was ready to try bigger and better things. She was reluctant until she really jumped in. Now, you couldn't pull her away with a team of oxen!!!
