Swinging New Years Resolutions

As you look back at your last year of swinging and look forward to a new year, what do you want to change? Do you want to swing more? Less? Are you going to change your approach? What changes are you going to make to your swinging lifestyle in the next year?

To take care of the most important thing now. Health. Everything after that comes second right now.

Then to take care of that swing...

There are going to be lots of changes for us over the next year. I am looking at a major career change by leaving an industry that I have been in for almost 30 years. This move will take me from Maryland to Tennessee in the coming weeks. So, wind down old job, go to TN and start up new one. Find a new place to live. Then move most of our stuff. Find "L" a new job in TN. Sell the house in MD. Move the balance of our stuff. I'm excited about it, but it is going to be a challenge for a while.

I (the female) hope to get the male half to open up more. Not just to swinging, but to life in general. He's been a sheltered man most of his life. Not until his grandmother past away did he start getting out. Even though it was a mutual agreement to start swinging and everything was good in the beginning, he has started to slow down and become so picky that we no longer play like we did in the beginning. So I'm hoping to get more play time in also. That's after everything else at home, jobs, and children are taken care of first, ofcourse.

Unfortunately, we have a person in our core group who has a problem with drugs and alcohol. It has gotten to the point where we avoid this person at parties because of the over-the-top behavior. This year, we will limit our exposure with this person. We will love that person enough to hurt their feelings about why they are not going to get invites to our house or to events that we will attend.

Maybe it will help this person understand how much of a problem this has become, or if not, at least we won't have to babysit or find excuses to get away from the person at parties anymore.

We also have some fiscal and career goals for the next year.

i think we are going to entertain at home more, or as often as we can.

we have never thrown a house party, but we feel we know enough now to provide a good setting for a small house party, nothing big just 3-4 couples maybe.

We are going to work on getting to know more couples in our area. We've decided to make every effort to attend as many of the local socials as we can and meet some new friends, as well as make sure that we drive up to Nashville at least every other month for fun.

We're back on our eating lifestyle change (Provida), to get back in shape. Since my accident, we've fallen off the wagon and ate out way too much and I couldn't work out.

Quitting smoking for 8 weeks also added pounds. Ugh!

As far as swinging changes, we're resolved to meeting in person. If we're contacted on Swing Lifestyle, then give them two weeks to meet or move along. No more dilly-dallying. Focusing on finding a special couple we both enjoy spending time with.

We have a new camper, so we'll be traveling.

We hope to set up more private play dates with close friends of ours. We still plan on hosting our quarterly parties, but we'd like to start seeing some of our friends in-between parties.

We are going through much of the same as ncmd couple. I am leaving a job after 15 years and moving on. I don't know yet where I am going to get new employment, but I am looking.

We definately plan to swing more. We haven't done anything for about a year and a half. We are going to try to attend an event every month.

Yes this is true of me and Julie, however me personally I plan to try to open up more and be more outgoing in meeting new people as I am the quiet one of the two of us.

MrVan and I have not really talked about our resolution for the New Year when it comes to the LS. 2007 has brought many challenges for us to where we have not had time to get together with friends that we have made in the LS as well as health issues for myself that have gotten in the way of the LS. So this year we are hoping that things settle down for us so that we can get back into the LS and catch up with some of our dear friends that we have made.

The changes that I wanted to make in our swinging lives were actually made last year. This year I'd like to see us keep doing the same things. Swinging hasn't been a major priority for us recently, mostly due to the fact that we're living in a very remote area. I'd like to see us continue to be open to whatever opportunities arise and otherwise enjoy whatever we are doing.

Well we are doing the very "vanilla" getting in better shape thing, but we have added a Swinger twist to it... Does that count?

We do not consider overwieght per se, but we have never been that good about really getting our bodies in really good shape. We figured, nothing better than utilizing the lifestyle as our motivation to do so!

We have given ourselves a goal to be in our best "swinging shape" by July 31'st for Swingfest in Hollywood Florida. We are making plans to go. We have even give it a name the Swingfest Swingdown 2008. On top of that to help hold ourselves accountable we have invited readers of our blog to join us and our posting weekly updates on our progress.
