What's your take on multiple/duplicate profiles?

Recently we ran across a cpl on Swing Lifestyle who seem pretty cool. We chatted with them for awhile and they seem like someone we'd really like to meet up with. The weird part is last week we couldn't link to their profile, so we did a search to look for it, and they popped up with multiple profiles (I'm talking 2+!!), none with any certs.

We brought this up in chat and their reason was because they had moved so often and didn't know they could change their location/zip. Since then I've noticed that there are a lot of profiles in our area that are duplicates. What's up with that? Fakes/pic collectors or perhaps just "not too bright" with the internet?

Well while its possible they lacked the internet sophistication to understand they could change their zipcode, or edit their profiles, I'd be wary.

I've heard of people copying a legitimate profile and pictures and putting up a new profile in a different zip code for the purpose of picture collection or whatever these kinds of people do to get their rocks off.

Its also possible that they are not from your immediate area and are trying to meet people for travel locations.

Its possible they are not a real couple (aka married but not to each other) and making sure they do it out of town, etc.

Now it might be as simple as a lack of computer savvy but this is one thing you will want to verify.

Hmmmmm, hadn't thought of that! They aren't describing themselves as married to each other plus he lives out of town.....interesting.

I should mention that all of their profiles are in Chicago, same location, and they haven't asked for many pics (certainly not as much as some more "legit" couples have recently), so my guess isn't a pic collector.

I know a couple that does it because the free profiles are limited to the number of searches and message that can be made. They have multiple profiles so they can do more.

Well I know for us we have three profiles on Swing Lifestyle - one that was mine when I was a single female (ohmy69), which is now got myself and Mr. Menage on it as a couple's profile, Mr. & Mrs. Menage's profile from before our relationship (renonvcouple) and then the one we set up for our triad (menage_a_trois). The other two profiles all state to see our triad profile. So no secrets just don't want to loose them because we actually earn revenue off them and why give up that.................

Maybe you have stumbled upon one of the dirty little secrets of the swinger's board and the lifestyle. Money, money, money. It's all about money.

We have two, they are completely identical except for a slight difference in the name. There are so many times when you click to view a really interesting looking profile and its says "Sorry, you're limited to only 15 profiles a day" So we have the other one to get those couple of extra profile views in.

we noticed multiple profiles quite often when searching single females. the strange thing is, that its usally a married couple on one, and then we recognize the female on the other single female profile, we just look at each other and speculate . we havent confronted any of them yet.

one profile we caught on to,on the single bi female side. we added her to our messenger list only to find out that it was a sales pitch. after we added her to our yahoo messenger list, where you can post your on line status (stepped out or not at my desk,)hers is visit my website..buy my home interior stuff and get 10%off..

pretty clever i suppose.she has no intentions of meeting unless your wife wants to play with her and her new boyfriend.who buy the way broke up their marriage from the first married profile.after chatting we just couldnt help but think....what the f____...

Swing Lifestyle has an affiliate program where you can get paid for every referral that buys a membership. We have their banner ad on a few things and we've opted for them to just apply it to our membership since it isn't that much money, but we haven't paid for our membership in over a year now.

There isn't any money just the Affiliate Program which I happened on my accident when I was a single female and well it's just been a pleasant surprise. I have more than paid for all three of the lifetime memberships we have and then some and I don't work at it.................we average about 70-100 hits a day on our profile Menage_a_Trois alone.

As for it being a dirty little secret.........nope it's there for all to see if you just read and check out the website.............ANYONE can do it...........

Wow! I had no point of reference before. Now I feel like our profile is absolutely being ignored.

In regard to the multiple profile thing, who cares? Compared to the other wierdness that goes on, it's a very mild irritation. Helpful, in fact, in some cases. We too have seen faces, female and male, with a couple's profile and with a single's profile. We then know to steer clear of the couple.

While we pop in and out of swinging, here is how it normally works for us.

Add placed, no pictures, 5-10 hits.

Pictures added 400 hits in a week for a couple of weeks, even on big websites. When we joined LL we were the #3 couple viewed for those 2 weeks.

Then back to maybe 50 hits a week or so.

I'm willing to bet that most of those hits are people looking to see any public boobies.
