I had no desire to see any of the Cirque Du Soleil shows until a couple of weeks ago. I was watching "America's Got Talent" and for some reason they showed a a scene from Zumanity, the latest Circque show that's playing at NYNY. Watching the little bit they showed (mainly a woman dressed as a school girl doing rope play) I thought "damn if that's what they can show of it on a "family" show then I wonder what the rest of teh show is like. As luck would have it, NY NY was where I was staying while in Vegas last week, and as we looked around we saw posters for teh show that made it clear that this was not a kiddie show, so we checked it out. The show is highly sexual and gets going before the show even starts with a "pre-show" that kept us in our seats watching what was basically a "swinging couple" running around hitting on the audience. Throughout the show they hit on just about every type of sex/love/relationship and a few fetishes, making for a completely enjoyable and funny show well worth watching. I would suggest, however, if you get the chance to go, get a seat on the main floor as close to the stage as possible... it would be worth the extra cost. Anyone else seen this show? |

Oooooooh, that sounds like a lot of fun! Haven't seen it yet, but I'll have to look into it. The kids'll be pissed if they find out we went to the circus without them, though. |

I wouldn't call this a circus. It's more of an adult show with "Cirque" themes (ie. some acrobatics, contortionists, etc) but definately not a show you'd take the kids to.

As far as I know it's just at the NY NY in Vegas for now. I guess like most of them if it gets big enough it may start popping up elsewhere.

We were disappointed when we saw it a year and a half ago. We must have gone in with loftyer expectations of an ultra creative, serious, artful look into sex and sensuality. It was similar to my experience with the first Star Wars film. I went in with the mistaken impression that it would be more along the line of thought provoking science fiction. From the very get go, it seemed a phony tease to us. The comely young ushers were donned in pseudo lingere T-shirts that revealed painted on covered cleavage. The show itself was roughly framed around a "Cabaret" theme with a learing double entendre spouting master of ceremonies. "Hey everybody! What's long, hard, and full of semen?? A SUBMARINE!!!" Bwa, ha,ha,ha,ha. To be fair, a couple of the acts were interesting. The vignet of the two in the martini glass and the threesome act were closer to what we were expecting. But all of the frontal male nudity was (as far as we could tell) prosthetic and implemented as stupid (IOHO) adolescent humor. Good god, it's sounding like we don't have sense of humor isn't it? I think our "fantasy' of the show just didn't live up to the reality which isn't really fair to the show. But there's our opinion.

My husband and I went to see this show while we stayed in vegas for our honeymoon last year and although it wasn't "live porn" it was certainly Cirque's way of shedding a "welcome" light to different sexual circles. As a swinger, I very much appreciated this show as it seemed to bring us one step closer to Swinging man-kind. I know that not all folks found the show realistic but just remember, that we are the minority and it was just cool as hell to see something like that thrown into the vanilla-public. I stand and applaud the directors, choreographers and all creative staff on this piece and hope that more of the like find their sexy little ways into mainstream.

I was in Vegas for work and when I told some people there that my wife and I were going to see it they were shocked that we were going, couldn't believe my wife would want to go and that their wives would never go. I mean there were guys KISSING and freeky stuff! We saw it and were pretty amused with how tame it was, it had some funny bits, and some nice acrobatics, but it wasn't a sex show and it wasn't as good as the other cirque's in terms of performances. I'm not an artsy farsty french foofoo guy, but O was more enjoyable. | |

We saw it January 2006 in Vegas while we were in town for the AVN awards and trade show. Loved-absolutely-loved it! Next time we're in Vegas, I'm sure we'll see it again! No, not a raw sex show, but definitely very sexy and worth the ticket price.

Sounds interesting Julie and now that we're in a real city, maybe we'll get a chance to see it here. ![]() -B |

Perhaps my expectations were low, set by what I expected (overall) from Circque shows in general (which wasn't much). Like I said I'd never had any desire to see any of them, until I saw the bit from this one... and even still I have no desire to see the others. There were parts of the show that were just cheesy and one part I can think of that I found a bit boring, but it was all definately sexy and much more entertaining than I would have expected. Actually, the pre-show was probably as sexy and entertaining as the rest of the show together. There was definately something there for everyone. I think the thing that surprised me the most was that people (the audience) didn't seem more shocked at what they saw. I would have expected a collective "ewwww" at the scene with two men kissing... but it wasn't met with that at all. Then I guess the people who actually go see it are probably the more open-minded souls hitting the shows.

I dunno Julie, I still find guys kissing pretty gross, I just won't be a rube and say 'ewww'. Really the homosexual content was far more tame than I expected based on all the pre-hype about it. |

Julie, We've been to two of the Cirgue shows and loved them both. How can you not enjoy those superb young bodies? ![]() I read about Zumanity and am really, really eager to go but it's only in Vegas. Sure wish it was a traveling show like some of the others. |

We saw it with "close friends" and loved the show. We sat right down front in the sofa seats which made it even more fun since I had my arms around my wife for the first part and my friend's wife for the second. It was very sexy and made a great start to a very long, steamy evening. Oh, that was a great night!
