Our first club visit last night

The wife and I went to our very first club in over a year last night, unfortunately there isn't much to tell. Not to offend anyone I will keep the clubs name undisclosed. We decided to visit this particular Southern Ohio club because it was within 20 minutes of where we live, it's fairly new and the pics of this club looked amazing...plenty of space and play rooms,etc. When we arrived and paid our money, we were greeted by a very nice lady, who explained the rules and told us if we had any questions feel free to ask. Once inside the club, this is where everything went down hill. We were expecting a tour, but was told that one of the owners was too deep in a conversation to give us a tour, he had a regular guy give it to us instead??? WTH...you can take our money, but know your to busy trying to fuck to give us a tour??? After the tour that took every bit of 5 minutes, we got some drinks and took a seat. I have to admit, this was a really nice club. The DJ played evey request made, the food set up was superb. Overall, this club was very clickish and not newbie friendly in our OP.

We haven't given up hope...we'll keep looking for a more newbie friendly club. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think your experience is not specific to the club you attended. Most clubs have hosts that give tours, not the owner. I would not feel slighted. The tour does not last long, it's just to show you the various areas and go over any specific rules (couples only, group room, etc).

As far as being cliquish, that's par for the course as well. Unfortunately it's usually up to the new kids in town to introduce themselves. Many people there came with their friends and are not always paying attention to others.

We have been swinging for close to 2 years and rarely meet people at swing clubs unless we have pre-arranged a meet ahead of time. If we do meet people most times it's on the dance floor.

I can say, once you meet someone you will most likely meet more people as they introduce you to their friends and so on. And as you go more frequently people will recognize and perhaps be a bit more forward in talking to you. Don't give up!

Sorry to hear you had some less than expected courtesy from the owner ? Its sometimes over looked because of a members popularity with the regulars that all will find them to be a good representative of the new members. Thats not always the case though.

How many people were there ? What was the ratio of couples to singles ?

Did you see potential playmates (the do-ables) ? LOL

Thanks fun4Ds and exploringRM. As I said before it's been a year since we've attended any clubs and the few we attended, were very hospitable to us, and I guess we kinda expected the same here. It's cool thou. We are looking at potential clubs to visit as I type and we re-opened our profile on Swing Lifestyle again. The wifey is definitely eager to play,and that's exciting as hell for me. I really wished we could have had some beginners luck, lol. As for the couples to single ratio and do-ables. It was pretty much more couples then singles from what we could tell. The women were plentiful, so I thought. The wife couldn't say the same for the guys. We will definitely have to be more forward in making ourselves known as you said. There was one really attractive couple that was not there,but not to play.They kinda schooled us about the club and the clicks. They were regulars from Cincy,that come just to get away...they were really cool. I gave them our number to maybe have some dinner and drinks at a later date. Thanks again for the encouragment guys. We're definitely not giving up anytime soon.

Generally speaking, the owners have a lot on their plate that night. I often take care of the new couples' seminar at the club we attend so the owners can be free to take care of anything that comes up during that time. They make an appearance at the seminar, but it would be kind of awkward if they were called away while trying to fill the newbies in on the rules and what to expect.

Good luck next time out, and we hope you meet some great people, and have some fun with those folks as well.

Thank you. We never looked at it that way. We defitnitely will continue visiting some clubs to find the right fit for us.
