First party tonight :)

As the subj line suggests, we are attending our first party this evening. We are very excited and not quite sure what to expect. Is anybody else here attending a certain holloween party in Richmond, VA tonight?

We've had one other experience with another couple but they were long time friends so it was very comfortable. Needless to say, we are a bit apprehensive but definitely looking forward to it.

Okay, first rule: Have fun.
Second rule: Before you go, before you get sexually charged up, before you start drinking, sit DOWN and TALK. TALK some more, and even a little more. Any apprehensions or fears you have, talk about them...any insecurities, talk. Anything that you are thinking you need to share. Remember: your spouse does NOT read your mind.
Third rule: I would suggest you stay together since this is your first party...this helps prevent mis-understandings and hurt feelings. Run everything by your partner, don't just do it and assume that its okay. Never just disappear so that your partner is looking for you. Communicate and you will have a great time!

Agree with everything above.

House parties can get out of hand, so stick together like glue the first time to avoid issues (drama), unless you're so comfortable you can agree to jumping right in. It's going to be up to you to let others know your rules (same room, separate room, etc.).

Well, we went. We had a great time. We didn't hook up with anybody (well Milka made out with a hot chick a little bit) but we met some really nice people and had fun hanging out. Milka won the costume contest the prize for which was a free party so we'll definitely be going back. Who doesn't love free stuff?

I guess it was pretty much what we envisioned, nothing too shocking

I've always wanted to attend a party. We have small groups of people over to our house but since my bf has been to so many parties in his past, he doesn't want to go to any more of them. I'm so glad your first experience was a good one! That definitely helps.

Very pleased to read that you had a good time. JoAnn and I still become a little anxious before meeting new people. Maybe that part will always be there. But the rewards have certainly proven to be worthwhile.
