Ok, if any of you have followed my thread titled "almost there...but" you know that we were ready to make the plunge with our first couple. It was incredible!!! We haven't stopped talking about it yet.

So my question for the board is, did the excitement of it fade for you over time, or do you still get all giddy when something new presents itself? And since we are official swingers now, when do we get our membership cards? (lol)

I hope the excitement never becomes routine for us and we take it for granted. We're enjoying the build-up before each encounter, the party itself, and wow!! the afterglow stays fresh for several weeks. Make mine a double.......

Not every time, but there are those special couples that still make us pretty giddy. I think as a newbie, you'll probably go through a time of excitement because you had sex with "someone". Down the road, the excitement will be there when you meet and play with people that you feel a real comfort level and connection with.

When that connection isn't there for us the day after can be a little blah...

But when it is good, it is because we have met the kind of couple that we got into the lifestyle to find. That makes for a well-rounded experience for us.

I guess that where we took so long to be very careful at the pace in which we progressed, there was a lot of buildup. We wanted to make sure that if we did it, we were going to do it right. In retrospect, that was probably one of the best decisions we could have made. Everything just fell together so perfectly, and it is as if we woke up to a whole new world of possibilities that we had never considered before. Our past threesomes were fine, but this is much different for some reason.

I had read so many horror stories of the first time being a disaster, and am so glad that did not happen to us. And oh boy, what can I say about the shift in attitude of my wife! Before this weekend, she was apprehensive and thought we talked about it too much. Since then, she has talked about it constantly, and way more foul-mouthed than she used to be (I love it). She made the comment to me last night:
"You might have unleashed a beast in me with this stuff"

God, I hope so. LOL

Sorry to rant on and on, but we can definitely see what all the fuss is about now. We will have to find our way to the next SB meet-up.

Valuable lesson learned for all you newbies. The people on this board were right. Make your first experience with a more experienced couple. You will be glad you did.
