And we hope we have as great an experience as Mr. & Mrs. 2Jersey did last week.

My new top came in the mail today and I'm excited about having something new to wear and we're hoping to meet a lot of new people and make some new friends. We're a little nervous, not about anything swinging related but moreso that it's our first party. We've tended to avoid them as we prefer smaller settings and more of an intimate feeling but we decided to throw caution to the wind and venture out into something of a larger scale.

We'll let you know how it goes.

We won’t assume anything – but it is possible that you and we had different motivations for attending our first party. As for us, we were having some recent difficulties in connecting with the right people online - and we were attracted to the efficiency of combining many face-to-face meetings in one evening. In addition, we want to play, and we felt that an on premises party would include more serious (playful) swingers than what we had encountered online. Granted, we had a soft swap agenda (prior to the party, but not after), which may explain why we have attracted a lot of people with relatively sedate intentions.

As for our party experience (applicable to your situation) - we were most pleased with the outcome of our evening, documented here: Our First Full Swap - Lengthy Synopsis...
And we were most disappointed by the fact that the DJ played the music at such a high volume that it was difficult to have a normal conversation with the people we met. You may find that there are certain areas of the venue where the volume is less pronounced – we highly recommend the play area!

Our primary motivation probably stems from the fact that we get one, two if we're lucky, night a month to ourselves without raising questions about where we're going or what we're doing. We rely on my mother and sister for sitting so we don't want to raise any suspicions. We just haven't found a reliable outside sitter as of yet. I don't know if I'm ready to trust anyone other than family yet with our 4 year old either.

So, we decided that a party would give us the best opportunity to connect (I said connect, not sleep with, lol) a greater number of people. Good advice about the music, I'm sure we'll be spending most of our time outside in the pool.

I've always said clubs and parties are more bang for your buck, in at least a few ways Particularly when you don't have alot of time to mess around on the ad sites. The only thing I would add is that it seems like parties in particular, people seem to go off more in pairs than in 4somes. Its hard to hook up with a couple when half of them is off in a room with someone else.

Being we have attracted every newbie that has ever logged on to Swing Lifestyle in our area as of late, I am very very happy we are going to a party on Friday.

I don't mind being friends with the other couple, in fact we enjoy that very much, but I do not want to have to romance them too

Just a thought... Have you given any notion to a swingers club... on-site I mean?

We too are lucky to get a sitter once very 4-6 weeks. Although this weekend we are going a yahoo group meet and greet on Friday and to our normal swingers club on Saturday night. The stars are just aligned... and maybe an earthquake will happen. Our kids are a little order so high school sitters are ok for us!

Clubs are a little better than parties as we see them. Clubs usually have at least 100+ couples (and the one we attend allows 1 single male for every 6 women). This gives variety. Unlike one of the other posts (LOL_OMG I think it was), since there are so many people of varying stages of swinging, even if many go off to rooms, there are still others to meet!

Just a thought. Good luck and have fun. Don't get too wrapped up in the nervousness (as we often do.) Please let us know what happens....

I hope you have a great time at your party. I know I get nervous going to parties but for some reason now that we are in the Lifestyle I get more nervous going to vanilla parties then I do going to swing parties.

I also want to second going to a on-site club. Even if we don't play when we go to a club, we have a great time dancing and chatting with people.

Well, we had a fabulous time on Saturday night!! We were the first ones there and the last ones to leave. We were still skinny dipping at 5am (which is where I spent a great deal of my night) and the hosts and all the guests were just an amazing group of people to be around.

We met a lot of new people and that was our main point for the evening, to connect with new faces and have some fun. Unfortunately, I had an extremely unexpected visit from the witch (which I still don't know how it happened but oh well) and was prepared with an Instead cup but since this was our first time at this party, I didn't want to risk it leaking (it never has though) and making a bad first impression.

We enjoyed watching everyone and had some truly amazing conversations. There was a great deal of touchy feely opportunities which neither of us passed up. We're looking forward to our next party already.

I just need to find out why my pill all of a sudden stopped working and why it chose that particular day to do so.
