What was your first exposure to swinging?

Just how did everyone first discover this lifestyle?
I kind of have two first exposures. Once when I was about 10. And once when I was 19.

My mom and dad are divorced. They used to live far apart so I used to stay with my mom in the summers and holidays and dad the rest of the year when I was a kid. So during one summer, when I was maybe about the age of 10, I used to be a latchkey kid a day or two every week. My mom would go to work until about 10PM, and I had a lot of quality time with my summer friends, video games and blockbuster movies.

One day, as I was home alone, I hear moaning. I found a window on the side of my house on the second floor that directly overlooked the bedroom window on the side of the neighbors house on the first floor. Their bed was right against the window. I saw 2 couples doing full swaps and I would just watch them proceed to fuck the hell out of each other during the middle of the afternoon. It was a limited and obstructed view, but I saw the legs flying and and the much of the double teaming and trading off that was happening. Keep in mind I was still a little boy and by that age, I was already pretty girl crazy. So that really really blew my mind. (It was incredibly weird at that age to bump into the neighbors when taking out the trash and other regular times after that) At that age, I didn't know whether to think it was wrong or not, but I knew I was turned on by it immensely. Anyways, after that summer, my mom moved out of that house and although it already made its impression on me, I kind of forgot about as the years went by.

My second exposure to swinging was with someone I worked with. I was an intern in an office and my boss and his VERY HOT secretary was having an affair behind both their spouses backs. No one knew that at the time. However I was in contact with him even after I left the company and found out that they lived with each other after they broke it off with their spouses. My old boss called me and asked me as a favor to go over and help him fix his PC due to viruses. So I went and while I was working on it, he would leave the room. I wasn't snooping around or anything and I don't remember how I came across this, but I found pics of his full swaps with other couples with his hot secretary who was now his girlfriend. It was very hot and all kinds of dirty things was running through my mind by now since I was 19 years old. He proceeded to ask me to fix his office computer which also had dirty pics. Now that I look back on it, I think they were aware that I would find these pics and liked the fact that I was getting off on it.

Both these experiences had an influence on me since it kind of made me want to experiment with it too.

What are everyone elses initial exposure to swinging?

For me, soft swap as a teenager. You know, you and your friend are on a double date and you'll do it anywhere, so it usually is as a foursome in the same bedroom/car/tent/hottub, etc. Maybe swapping a few kisses between our dates. That kind of stuff.

Then finally what got us into it was a Mardi Gras party with both vanillas and swingers there. From there the ball was set in motion and here we are today.

During the college years, my group of friends and I were all pretty much fuck buddies. We'd couple up at the end of the night with whomever we ended up with.

Our first exposure as a married couple was when we were propositioned by a single female. That question was a no-brainer. We obliged.

We'd just gotten married and the couple who had introduced us were with us at the drive-in theatre.

Mine was a lot like this. I met a girl at the fair and ended up taking her to a friends place. Our friends did their thing - we did ours - but we were on the same bed. So, I'd say very soft swing.

My first was when I was in my early 20's. My roommate and I doubled dated and brought our girlfriends back to house. We sat around, had a couple of cocktails, and then started to play some cards. Well, one suggestion lead to another and soon we were playing strip poker. After we were all nude we started making out and playing with our own dates. Then, as if it were planned (and it wasn't) we just all switched partners... .. And I have never looked back...

Now, with my beautiful Mrs. P, swinging started not long after I told her about some of my past swinging experiences. She wanted to try, we did, and rest is history... facelick

Same here, my first experiance close to swinging wasn't until I was in my 40's. We did a little of what I now know to be soft swinging with some vanilla friends. At the time we didn't know that it even had a name, but it sure was fun and ultimately led us to reasearch it and start swinging.

I have the internet to thank for opening my eyes to things I would have never had the guts to explore through books. I would have been red-faced at the bookstore had I chosen to purchase books on sexual topics. And buying a book on swinging, NEVER! My usual source for reading material is the library, where I'm known. No way would I consider picking up books on sex. "Our Bodies, Ourselves" was as brave as I got.

I'm different now. I don't mind buying books, or checking them out at the library, no matter what the topic.

My first exposure to swinging wasn't until I read an article about swingers in a magazine some years ago. I never new such people existed until I came upon that article. I was greatly disturbed by what I read.

To think that today I am a swinger. Wow. How one's life can change.

Yes, curiousagain, moving from a sheltered life to one with a greater view can be done. Indeed, "fixable."
