Our first visit to an on-premise club

Well, we did it. My wife and I went to our first ever on-premise club this past weekend. All I can say is Wow!

The club's owners and staff were some of the nicest, frendliest people around. Being new members we got the obligatory tour. Our guide was very nice. Obviously the number one rule in the club was "No Means No." She stressed that throughout our tour, and she made sure to stop every few moments to see if we had any questions before proceeding. Showed us the facilities, locker room, play area, etc. Being that it was our first visit to a "lifestyle" club we thought it was pretty big, but we don't have any other place to compare it to, other than vanilla night clubs we usually frequent. It was a clean, well organized place. They also stressed hygiene and safety throughout the facilities. Towels were abundant and my wife asked about the use of condoms if we were to play with others. Our guide said that's our call: obviously we don't want to take home any unwanted "baggage," therefore condoms are recommended, but they don't provide any. We'd have to bring our own.

They had a pretty big main lounge that contained the dance floor (with full time DJ), tables and chairs, pool tables, and a kitchen off to the side where guests are encouraged to BYOB (they don't serve alcohol) and a buffet spread with snacks and soft drink machine. We would have liked to have spent more time in the main lounge, but being non-smokers we avoided it as much as possible. The play area was non-smoking, so that's where we spent most of the time.

We tried three of the rooms (each room has a theme of its own: glow in the dark, mirror in the ceiling, etc). It was pretty exciting. All the rooms have a window with a curtain, a chain, and a door with a lock. You veterans probably know the meaning of this but we didn't and our guide told us during our tour: open door with chain across the doorway was "viewers welcome," as was open curtain. Open door with everything open was anyone was allowed to join if they wanted, BUT, they had to ask permission first if they wanted to join in. Obviously, door closed, curtain drawn is "do not disturb."

What surprised me most was not so much the things we saw in the opened-door rooms, or the couples engaged in activities in the hallways and open areas (which we expected), but, rather, my wife's reaction to the whole experience. She asked prior to trying out the second (and third) room if I thought I was ready to leave the curtains open, or hang the chain across the door and give them a show of our own (she's a closet exhibitionist). Being the chicken that I am I said "not yet," perhaps our subsequent visits we will eventually. Also on the drive home she brought up the natural progression of future adventures: curtain open, chain hanging, open door, and eventually maybe inviting couples to join us. This last part surprised me the most, since all along I was under the impression that it was a no go as far as full swap. Obviously we'll be discussing and communicating our wants and needs for any future encounters, but for now I'd have to say we had a blast. I'm glad we went and look forward to going as much as we can.

Sorry this post sounded like a review, and I didn't mean for it to be. I just thought I'd share. We're just so excited. I highly encourage newbies to seek out on-premise clubs in your area and give it a try. It's an eye-opening experience and one you'll want to come back to.

We don't have on-premise clubs in our area so attending one will have to take place during a trip far away from home.

Glad you enjoyed it - we always loved Trapeze in Atlanta, and it's one reason we're happy to be living in Southern Florida now. There's definitely more on-premise clubs (nice ones at least) than there were in Michigan. Hopefully by the time that it's time for us to move back to Michigan, it's gotten with the program!

I am so glad that you had a great time! As a new couple, we went to a club to observe the lifestyle. It was great. The hosts were wonderful and informative, the people were awesome, and I cannot describe the rooms and how fun they were. I am glad that it had a possitive affect for both of you!
