Swing Lifestyle questions

Two questions (okay, just one now, moved the second to a appropriate location) regarding the swing lifestyle site, and I think both of these have been addressed elsewhere, but for some reason I couldn’t find them (I'm feeling impatient at the moment, and that probably has something to do with it).

How has it worked out for others here? Is it the site you get the best results from, just another tool in the box, or is it fairly ineffective? If it's just another tool, what sites do you find to yield the best results as far as finding real playmates?

We've gotten better results from AFF than Swinglifestyle, but it may have more to do with location than the site itself. There seems to be pockets of very well represented areas on different sites.

I agree, it depends on the location. Got nothing but junk and fakes at AFF. SwingerZone Central is new and growing fast but seems centered about the north midwest area for now. Best site for us to meet real people has been SwingLifeStyle

We've met a bunch of nice folks through the "group" feature on Swing Lifestyle. It worked perfectly for us. Two of the groups are active and arrange meetings and parties all the time. Through those contacts, we were added to other invitation lists and for a while, there were more events than we could arrange to attend. Things have slowed down a bit since the economy soured (maybe it's unrelated) but there are still plenty of parties for us.

We entered swinging through the Swing Lifestyle site. Met a couple on there and played. They introduced us to the local club, and that's where we've concentrated our efforts the last five years.

So, yeah, we had success with Swing Lifestyle, and are lifetime members, but we don't really use it much anymore since we prefer meeting via the club scene.

Pretty much the same deal here. Check it every couple days, but prefer clubs and parties. It does seem to be the best choice for our area though.

We still haven't managed to get to a club, but we do okay with Meet & Greets and parties. We use Swing Lifestyle as our site for keeping in touch with potential playmates and finding events in our area.

M&G's and parties are listed by distance (or how ever you set up to view them). They are either hosted by clubs (listed under club events), Swing Lifestyle groups (listed under group events). If your not registed I am not sure you can view them.

We've had better luck with another site as well (C4P), and again it's probably a location thing. There's a good Swing Lifestyle presence in our area, but many many more on C4P.

Plus I like the layout and features better on C4P.

Like N8ture Girl said, you look at the Swing Lifestyle home page, under the Events heading. Typically it's divided by Club Events, National & International, and Group Events. Meet & Greets (the ones we go to, anyway) are usually found in the third category. Also, if you are a member of any groups, then go to My Groups and click on the group name you want to check out.

If you're not a member of any groups, you can try doing a search for groups in your area and request membership to the ones you find interesting. Once you start meeting some folks, you'll likely receive more group invites.
