New to area - how do we find play friends

Hi all

We've been in the San Francisco East bay for the last two years, and haven't had any real success finding play friends (not that we've looked two hard). We're 45/44 yr old professionals, and really looking to find some like minded couples, or even a single guy for Mrs while I am out of town. We've been in the lifestyle for 10 years, so I suppose that makes us "experienced" :-)

What does everyone find is working best these days? Would be interested to hear.

Most of us use Swingerlifestyle.com (Swing Lifestyle) or Adultfriendfinder.com (AFF). Each has their own benefit, but for your area, Swing Lifestyle is probably the better of the two. There are a few threads around here regarding which site is best. There are groups for various regions on each site that you could join as well. It might give you a better idea of the type of people you're looking for.

Truly, it would be easier for you to tell us what you HAVE been doing. We may suggest somehting that you have found does not work in your area.

Really not much more to offer than the advice given. Join sites and chat with others in your area. We are part of Swing Lifestyle, but another one that is more targeted with locals in the NorthEast and have good success with both. When you are chatting ask questions about local parties, Yahoo groups, even Twitter (yes, it's worked for us!) and such. Once you get hooked into these circles (and participate) you'll find that you'll meet a lot of people. Use the database on this site to find local parties, either clubs or house parties. Go there and meet up with folks.

Thanks - yes, I am out of Lurker mode :-) Appreciate the advice, as I hadn't heard of swingerlifestyle.com - will give it a try

We've been here for two years settling in, but we moved from Australia, so it has been quite the move. In Australia we used AFF a little, but found more success through contacts met at an on premises club. We luckily connected into a group who held fabulous private parties, and that kept us busy (and exhausted) for the five years before moving here.

I suppose we're a bit shy given the cultural context and shift, and have been building up the courage to see what is around. There is a club in SF called "Twist", but we haven't been there yet, and haven't seen any reviews - so hard to tell what it will be like.
