Pictures that turn you off!

My biggest peeve regarding profile photos are the ones that only have the wife in them. To me that can be awkward when the wife looks attractive you start talking, things go well and then you see a pic of the hubby ! Then what do you do? If your listed as a couple then show everyone your a couple. And the other big thing is those profiles that their default pic ( the one that everyone sees first) is of one BIG boob. It fills the whole picture! Save that for your private gallery or your default gallery. Oh and there is another, a ton of spelling and grammer errors. This is a big turn off. If you have to read it several times to understand it, its too many. ( I would by no means win a spelling bee, but there is something called "spell check")

The whole idea of a profile is all about marketing yourself. This is your way to send a positve first impression.

Yeah, we find the 'hot-wife-as-bait' profiles annoying too. They also are the ones that tend to have a line attempting to explain that "he is very well-known in the community" as the reason why. Um... if he is that well-known in the community, wouldn't it stand to reason that folks in the community are probably gonna recognize his wife too?

We also scratch our heads at a lot of the same things that others have mentioned - messy backgrounds, body parts only, etc. However, we agree 100% with those who say let them put up what they want (kids being the hard and firm exception)... it's just another piece of information about them that each individual can interpret based on their own preferences.

You notice people making Kelsey Grammer errors in their profiles? I haven't seen that.

We don't actually get "turned off" by pictures so much as it is a lack of a "turn on".

Dirty backgrounds, messy homes are a definite "no no" for us. Pictures of only one member of the couple. Rarely, if ever, will we write to those profiles, and if they write to us, we will ask for a pic of the "missing spouse". After that, we're usually told they are "far too well known" to have a picture posted. lol Apparently some people think others were just born yesterday, AND in the dark.

We don't get turned off by cock shots or closeups, we just don't contact them and they will get a prompt no thanks if they write to us. I'm with the poster who wanted the folks together, nicely dressed, and facing the camera (as in a studio type of photo). All we want to see is that 1) its a couple, 2) they are appealing to us, and 3) they aren't either of our exes, lol.

To the poster who didn't want to approve the finger pics? Go right ahead. Mostly everyone we've ever met in this Lifestyle has the same feeling about those pictures, and in most cases, they are used as avatars in the forums, and are done just to be able to flip someone off without actually doing so - kid stuff, lol. :-)

For us less is definitely more when it comes to pictures. I just want to get a good idea of what people look like and not feel like I'm shopping an online meat market. Provocative photos are fine but leave a little to the imagination.

I've noticed some of your replies regarding spouses not being shown. I'm a member of the military in my fairly small town and do not want my face on any of the "matching" sites like AFF. I'm only willing to exchange face pictures after a friendship of some sort has been established.

What would you guys consider to be acceptable pictures in this situation?

Though no specifically disallowed by the one swingers' direct-contact Web site where we still maintain a membership, we find "composite" pictures to be suspicious --- the kind where somebody has combined two pictures to make it appear as if a man and a woman had posed for the same picture. It speaks loudly of "fraud".

There's nothing wrong with not putting face pictures up that can be seen by all... quite a few people have the same concerns you do. However, most sites allow you to have private pictures that you control the access to. Keep in mind though - when swingers go 'window-shopping' if there's nothing in the window there's a good chance they won't bother to go inside the store.

A good full-length 'G' rate pic in a neutral setting with the face blurred out, covered, or cropped out using the many available programs out there is acceptable to most of the folks we know. If there is interest in what they see, they can contact you, then the choice is yours whether to share your face pics with them.

You should do what I did. Take a body shot, crop off the head and add enough spice to the picture to make it stand out. It's not that effective in a smaller town, but it's astonishingly effective for larger city contacts.
