The Swingers Board FAQ

Here you can find answers to questions about how the board works. Use the links or search box below to find your way around.

Why should I register?

In order to fully utilize the abilities of this forum, you are required to register. Registration is free, and allows you to have full access to all of the available forums. As an unregistered user you can only read/ post in about half of the forums.

Help: I Forgot my Password!

If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it here:

How do I Change My Username?

You don't. To prevent confusion, our policy is to not allow username changes unless there are extreme circumstances - ie. You used identifying information in your username (real name).
Typically, all username changes must be made prior to any posts being made to the forums. To request a username change you need to contact the admin to make your request. You can always register a new username at any time.

How do I Delete My Registration

You may contact Julie to have your registration deleted. However, if you have posted to the site, your posts, stories, articles, etc will remain a part of the website. Also, note that once you delete your account there is no way to reinstate it.

Since this is not a hook-up site and no one will be able to view your profile unless they have first viewed a post you made, there is really little reason to delete your account and it is much better (and easier) to simply edit your profile to remove all contact options (including contact from the admin) and identifying information.

How do I use the Member List?

The member list contains a complete list of all the registered members of this forum. You can view the member list ordered alphabetically by username, by the date that the member joined the forum, or by the number of posts the members have made.

How do I post a picture on my profile?

Again, please keep in mind that this is not a hook-up site. No one will ever even see your profile if you don't get involved in the site. There is no member search option. That said, you are only allowed to post a picture to your profile once you have shown that you intend to get involved by posting at least 10 posts to the forums. This saves me bandwidth and you the effort.

Once you have the minimum of 10 posts you will find the option to "edit Profile pic" in your user CP on the left.

What is a signature for?

Once you have a minimum of 10 posts, you may set your signature. This is a piece of text that you would like to be inserted at the end of all your posts, a little like having headed note paper.

If the administrator has enabled signatures, then you will have the option to include your signature on any posts you make. If you have specified a signature, then the forum will automatically append your signature to any messages you post. You can disable signatures on a per-post basis by un-ticking the 'Show Signature' checkbox when you compose your message.

You may turn the signature on and off on posts you have already made by editing the post and altering the state of the 'Show Signature' option.

You can set your signature by editing your profile.

Can I edit my own posts?

Registered users may edit their posts for up to 6 hours after the original posting (this time limit may change without notice). No one is allowed to delete their posts as this causes confusion and a loss to the board in general.

To edit or delete your posts, click the button by the post you want to edit.

After you have made your modifications, a note may appear, which notifies other users that you have edited your post. Administrators and moderators may also edit your messages but will only do so to fix coding errors.

Search FAQ

Select this option if you would like your search to look in the text of FAQ items as well as their titles.

Select an option here to specify how you would like your search query to be treated. 'Any words' will return the most numerous but possibly least relevant results, while 'Complete phrase' will return only results that contain exactly what you are searching for.
