What is the "norm" as far as shaving/trimming for women and men? Are most of the women totally shaven or is a close trim okay?
And what about the guys?

I wasn't sure where to put this but this was one of the stories featured on Yahoo today. I thought it was so sweet how loving and understanding the family was during this transition for the dad-into-mom. Unfortunately, I glanced at some of the comments and I was disheartened by the cruelty that society can exhibit.

I was reading this blog entry over at SwingerWife and it got me thinking about how it's pretty much commonplace to see shaved (or at least very well trimmed) genitalia in both women and men in the lifestyle. I can't tell you the last time I saw a hairy bush (probably mine 15 years ago?).

That got me thinking, did you shave prior to swinging? would you still shave if you weren't swinging? For that matter, why do you shave?


I can't recall if I started shaving before or after I started swinging. I know the first time was when I was dating my now hubby (over 15 years ago) he shaved me as part of play one night. It was also the first time he ever went down on me (as the pubic hair was a huge turn-off for him towards the idea of "eating out"). I believe that after that I did at least start keeping it well trimmed, but I'm not sure I started shaving it right away. Over the years I've continued to keep it shaved just because now I hate the feeling when there is hair down there.
