My wife and I just recently had a recently wonderful experience at Sea Mountain in California. For those not familiar with the place, it is a nudist/lifestyle friendly resort. You see everything and anything happen at Sea Mountain. While I am not writing this to share "gory details," it does come in to play with some general advice I hope some might find useful.

There seems to be a good number of threads here that are basically this: "I really want to swing right now but need to convince my spouse. Please help!" On many levels, that mindset seems wrong. I don't believe your significant other should be pressured or convinced to do anything that would make them uncomfortable (sexual or otherwise). Similarly, constant battering on the subject seems to me at least to be disrespectful to your partner. There are no shortcuts or tricks. There are no magic words.

Instead, the possibility of swinging starts with a committed and strong relationship. In my personal opinion, it takes years to develop such a relationship. While I am aware of, and have seen, those who swing that have not been together for long, I have trouble understanding or appreciating how such relationships can swing and survive. While I am being overly general, and recognize there are exceptions to everything, it seems "to quick" without a foundation.

In my case, I've personally had an interest in swinging for at least over a decade. While my interest at first was rather fleeting and not entirely serious, it has been there in some form for a while. However, even before discovering these boards and engaging in "studies" if you will, it just did not seem right to pressure my wife on the issue.

Instead, I remained very patient and committed to my relationship. In the process, we have built a very strong, deep and loving relationship. She is my soul mate and I have no interest in loving another in that way. She "completes me" it I may use the cliche.

Having spent the time to work on the primary relationship, we have gone through and overcome many phases. One, for example which is key for all this, is jealousy. About 15 years ago, I was insanely jealous. Having built our bond, and realizing we love each other deeply and are not going anywhere, we have both transcended jealousy. I think it is, important, to do just that in order to move forward.

So what did we do from there? We continued to take it extremely slow. Getting back to my mention of Sea Mountain, we went for the first time three years ago. Needless to say, our first visit was "eye opening" and it started to further open up our communications. Last year's visit brought more. Finally, moving to this year the floodgates came open. It facilitated detailed and deep communication about the issue and has brought us closer to the point of being even more ready to try this adventure.

Again, the point I am trying to make is that it seems, in general, one must move extremely slow in this area and always be cognizant of fostering your main and most important relationship. Moving quickly and/or letting your main relationship wilt can only lead to disaster. And who wants disaster? Extreme baby steps and patience are vitally important.

So, here we are today with two "dates" coming up with two couples. We also have some funny and hot stories from our most recent trip to Sea Mountain (again no playing with others). Sharing in this most recent fun and laughs have, in the process, really brought us even closer together. So again while we have not yet taken that ultimate step, I think the above has really positioned us well to do so confidently, without jealousy, and realizing we remain the most important thing to one another.

Hopefully not too much rambling and I don't speak from any experience. I do hope it might be of use to someone.

Hello this i my first post here. This forum seems like there are actually people here engaged in the swinging lifestyle, as opposed to wannabe types mostly posting their unfulfilled fantasies. Here is our situation. We have been married 20 yrs, very stable and mature relationship. We are both professional and have 3 kids, one just starting college and two in high school.
