Swing Lifestyle vs swingers date club

Hola board,

I signed up for Swing Lifestyle recently and have been pretty pleased with it. I have heard from some people though that swingers date club was "better". I did the trial membership with swingers date club and found it a bit clunky and hard to navigate. What have people's experiences been here? Are there more people on one or the other? Does one have a different demographic? Totally lost here...

swingers date club has a lot of parties to go to in south florida and works closely with the swingers clubs like trap and velvet to bring monthly sdc parties to those clubs were members get big discounts and those nights the clubs are packed i only go on those nights these days also bifemale events like theblissclub.com and skin, they really bring members together offline I especially like going to the monthly free sdc meet and greet were about 200 members show up and all the staff from sdc i think thats a first to get to meet the actual staff is pretty cool it shows they really care and aren't just in it to make a buck. I copy and pasted the parties off their site to give you an idea of how many they organise, hope this helped.

The number of people on each site is really a regional thing. I just did a seach on Swing Lifestyle and came up with about 166 "certified" members within 25 miles of Miami. We let our trial membership to swingers date club expire so I can't tell you much about that. Lifestylelounge showed 150 "certified" members within 30 miles of Miami.

The main difference between LL and Swing Lifestyle is that people on Swing Lifestyle tend to put less weighting on looks, and more weighting on the other factors that make people attractive. That is of course a generalization...we're on both sites.

Well.

I have 4 years on swingers date club, 2 years on Swing Lifestyle. I might have a thing or two to contribute to this thread.

I first joined swingers date club in Sept 2000. I was one of the first to contribute to the swingers date club forum (actually, I think the second or third respondant on Dec 4th 2000) and was the pioneering factor behind the creation of the "single male validation" certifications on single male profiles in mid-2001.

Please keep in mind that my experience of swingers date club extends from Sept 2000 to Oct 2004, and Swing Lifestyle from Oct 2004 to present.

On swingers date club:

swingers date club was originally written with Frontpage, and was a simple HTML coding with java scripting thrown in (ie. chat rooms, messenger). It is now moved more toward Macromedia Flash objecting. The site allows its members to use simple HTML codeing for their profiles, emails and forum posts. swingers date club is composed of 4 staff, that I know of. The webmaster has very little exchange with the public.

I've found swingers date club to be mainly of Texan and Floridian public. Many of the Texans originally migrated from another site of which that public was in dispute with. The forums are linear-time based: newest topic first, oldest topic last (not category-seperated). The forum themselves were not moderated, and so it was pretty much a free-for-all, arguments and personal attacks not being controlled. Ronald (the webmaster) attempted to assign a moderator to the forums and that project failed, mid-2004.

After I left swingers date club in Oct 2004, the European version of swingers date club merged with the American version, and the forums died--mostly becoming a "we're going to be at ... anyone going to be there?" type forum. The website attempted a general amnesty in March 2006 for those banned from the site in an attempt to revive the forum. That project failed.

swingers date club is not bisexual-friendly, pertaining to couples and men. In regards to a swing party for patrons of swingers date club, swingers date club expects a tithe for the use of their name. The monthly membership fee for an account is $19.95/mo.

On Swing Lifestyle:

Very simply written (intentionally) to accomodate most computer users. The public, particularly the forums, are mostly North-Easterners: PA, NY, NJ. Forums are preference-driven, ie. BBW, BDSM, Bisexual, Straight, yet the Open and Political Forums retain the most activity. There is light moderation of the forums by Technical Support, however the forums remain very cliquish.

Messenger is written in Macromedia Flash, Chat is in java.

Swing Lifestyle is very bisexual-friendly and although most of the public I've found are not "Ken & Barbies", its public is more meeting-driven. The webmaster is not involved with the public and Tech Support controls those reins. Swing Lifestyle is very gun-shy, using 2257 as the basis to control what pictures are allowed in member profiles. Picture approval is slow, with some lifetime members aiding Tech Support in the approval process (and so therefore what is approved is not consistent).

There are no links allowed, either in email or in posts. No mention of other websites. This is gotten around by typing such things as "s ls(dot)com".

Membership is relatively inexpensive, 9.95/mo, 19.95/3mo. Anyone can have a free membership profile for as long as they wish, however they will have very minimal features.

We dont have a profile on swingers date club yet, so we can't speak much about the site.

However, we do go to the Casbar in Brooklyn and have noticed the most active nights there are when swingers date club hosts a party there.

when you say not bisexual friendly you must mean male bisexuality right as pretty much every female or female part of the couple ive met on swingers date club is bisexual or bicurious with a few exceptions here and there, and times have changed since you left, sdc has a blogger system thats really popular, also member videos are a big hit. I took a look a the chat rooms to see were most people are from and members are from all over the south, new york, boston, georgia, california, the spanish language chatroom is packed but i dont habla so couldnt tell you about that, same goes for the dutch chat. The most busy chat room of all is in the UK chat lots of dirty web cam shows going on in that one, never visited that one before but will be back tonight me thinks lol.

UPDATE - i did a search for bi guys and bi couples with pictures only near me miami and 825 result showed up

i havent been to casbar but i do go to the swingers date club parties at miami velvet and trapeze and on those nights those clubs are the busiest also, what i do like about sdc is that they have party guestlist you can add yourself to and more importantly check out who else is going. Often if i see a couple i like thats going i will email them and then we can meet at the party if we click we play, if we dont no harm done, for me it makes playmates easier to connect with.

Right. And I quote myself, "Please keep in mind that my experience of swingers date club extends from Sept 2000 to Oct 2004, and Swing Lifestyle from Oct 2004 to present." It was hostile there at one time toward bicouples and bi-men. I don't particularly care about now, since I don't intend on rejoining. I had three lifetime memberships there at one point, I gave two of them away.

And yes, it definately has changed since I left. The European and Latin swingers date club sites were merged into the American site (I forgot the Latin one). The combined strength of all three sites is what generates the high "who's online" numbers.

Dunno about bloggers and I haven't been updated on the goings-on there for several months.

We have been on Swing Lifestyle for about three years and have been very pleased. But in all fairness, we have not been on swingers date club. Maybe we should check it out.

Sure. At the top menu of the site, you'll see a link "User CP" (control panel). Click on that. Then click on the "Edit Avatar" link on the left menu.

You can load custom avatars either one of two ways: 1) you can enter the web address of the avatar itself, or 2) you can upload one from your computer (that's what I did).

The avatar can only be 75x75 pixels big, or max 20k in size, whichever is smaller. You can always take one of your preferred pics and use Photoshop to shrink it down to the desirable size, then click on the "browse computer" button to upload it to this site.

Then *POOF!* Magic. You're all set.

Swing Lifestyle also has this feature and they give a free account to clubs and party hosts for this purpose, whenever you loggin a list comes up automaticaslly of all the parties in your area. Very handy, we do the same thing.

I think that as far as the number of members goes it is pretty even in your area with a slight edge going to swingers date club in total Florida members. Like you, we like the look, feel and user friendliness of Swing Lifestyle better and in our area their is no comparison Swing Lifestyle has about 10 times more members than swingers date club. Another thing about Swing Lifestyle that is attractive is that their life membership is so cheap, last I checked it was less than $150.00 and you never pay again.
