Mysteriously opened Swing Lifestyle private pictures

Hello all,

This is not something that's keeping me up at night or anything, but it has made me scratch my head and say "Huh"?

In April, we wrote to a couple on Swing Lifestyle. We never heard back from them, so presumed they weren't interested. Okay. About a week ago, their profile popped up on the "Random" list that gets displayed when you sign in. I clicked on it out of curiousity, to see if they'd signed in recently and if they had any new pictures or other information.

Then came the slightly strange part...their private pictures were visible. Faces and everything. I checked the mail history to make sure I wasn't losing my mind. Nothing after our message to them. I remembered that around that time, Swing Lifestyle was having a lot of problems and some of our email got lost.

I couldn't help it... I wrote to them again, let them know their private pictures were open, and asked if we missed something. They opened the message, again did not write back, and the pictures are still visible. We have left our private pictures private.

Has this happened to anyone else? Why would someone do this? I shouldn't care, but it's one of those niggling little things....

You don't have enough information to deduce their intentions - all you can do is speculate. We have had people write us (with their privates open) and they have kept their privates open long after we rejected them. Some people just seem to be very free with their privates, and they don't seem to pay attention to who has access at a given time.

Monday morning quarterbacking: If we had initiated contact with a couple in April - we (unlike you) would have opened their profile a number of times since. Accordingly, we probably would have noticed their photos were open, and we probably would have reciprocated short thereafter (assuming we liked their photos).

If you would like, you can open your photos for them now, and write them again and alert them to the fact that your photos are open. We realize this will be awkward, but it at least gives you an excuse to knock on their door one more time. We believe they have acted rudely towards you (assuming there were no technical e-mail glitches), so you may have lost interest in them at this point.

On LL it tells you when someone opens their private pictures and there its quite common to have what you had happen. On LL the theory is some just want 'hits' on their profile, since they have little contests for the most hits etc. Its very...highschool like. Why someone on Swing Lifestyle would do this is anyones guess.

They probably just granted you access to their private pics. Nothing more, nothing less. Sometimes people use it as a way to break the ice and show they are genuine, I guess. I wouldn't worry about it as long as you're private pics aren't visible to them or anyone else. Which, unless there is a glitch in the website, shouldn't happen.

I don't remember whether we watched their profile after writing, but certainly I wouldn't expect a secret sign -- they could at least have dropped their handkerchief and batted their eyes.

Their pictures show an extremely good-looking couple, "Barbie and Ken" - like. We think this is strange behavior, or at least indicates they're not serious, so we're not inclined to pursue them.

Nah... It's just fun to talk about them

and see what people think.

Please private message us with their screen name. We don't want to get to know them - we just want to stare at their private photos.

Our Swing Lifestyle account is set up so free members can't see us. However, about once every 3 or 4 months we will receive a message from a free member.

We emailed Swing Lifestyle about this, and their reply was "We are currently working on this issue"

Not exactly the same issue as you have, but similar...

The same has happened to us (but not frequently). We really don't mind if a free member e-mails us - we just don't want them to view our profile (for discretionary reasons). We don't even mind when single males e-mail us (we are invisible to single males). We are happy to respond to all e-mails, it only takes a moment to be nice to people.

Most free members would not (we assume) e-mail someone whose profile they haven't viewed. But, there is a chance that some free members of Swing Lifestyle have encountered us (and gotten our screen name) somewhere else (perhaps on this board).

Based on your your correspondence with Swing Lifestyle, that they don't intend to allow free members to contact paid members with invisible profiles. This should be an easy problem to correct.

We feel the same. It's not a really big deal to us, and we always respond. Guess it's just an occasional glitch in the matrix.

Hmm... Hadn't considered that. The profile and pictures look real, but of course I can't guarantee the pictures weren't copied from someone else's profile. If they were trolling for our private pictures, I think they would have written back to encourage us to open them.

Looking at the pictures again...wait a minute....

Thats interesting because we have single males blocked on our Swing Lifestyle account but once in a while we get an email from a single male (one of those that apparently can't read the "no single males" in our profile).

I emailed them and got a similar answer.
