Hello everyone, I was on a swinger ad site and my wife and I joind as free trial members, planning on becoming life time members if we liked the site.Well we went to the forums and were shocked to read how many paid members complained about trial members ,calling them cheap, and other things that quite frankly shocked us.I know most in the life style are decent people, not rude, and usually very nice to newbies.so please dont take this as getting on everyone.I guess I am just wondering is this the way payed members feel about trial members.I mean everyone was a newbie at some point right? The thing about the life style i loved was freedom and the great feeling ya get like on top of the world. But i must say this hit me and my wife very hard thankyou so much for reading this Ron |

I'm guessing your talking about AFF. We tried that site and that is the least of it's problems. We've deleted our account. So far we are very happy with swinglifestyle.com. A few will block free members and in fact we are thinking of joining and doing the same, but I have yet to hear anyone get rude about it.

Well I can tell you on CT it's mostly single males who keep making a trial account, using for a month and coming back and making another one when the first one expires. We only allow paid members to view our pictures.

I hate to say it is not just AFF that SOME paid members feel this way. Since I am in the Internet business and work on the net we have belonged to just about very known Swingers site on the net. We are not a paid member of any of them anymore even though we have been just about all of them. I found that to many of the sites form a "Clique" that tends to try to run the whole site. They will give anyone a bad time and talk behind their back if they do not fit in that Clique and I wanted nothing to do with any of that nonsense. I do not fit well in Cliques at all. I like to tell the truth to much! I think Laura is still a free member of one of the sites and we also belong to the site Lifestyles owns but it is free to everyone. Yes, I am cheap. But we don't belong because of the group that always seems to take over the sites and make the lifestyle a pain in the butt. I like keeping it simple. No drama.

We don't feel that free members are cheap, not at all. It has more to do with the seriousness of the person. We just feel that if someone is serious about meeting others then they'll pop at least the $9.95 - $19.95 to try it out for a month or two. We've also blocked our profile from free members because many are horny single guys trying to get laid by the weekend and we get innundated with emails. Plus, you never know who creates a free profile just to see who in their community is on there. Besides, paid members get allot more functionality out of most of the websites, so it's probably worth joining for a month or two just to check it out. Our favorites? Swing Lifestyle, Swappernet, and Swingular. We've removed our profile from AFF altogether. Mr. WS |

I agree with those that block their profile from non paid members because I do the same as well. I do it to prevent the single males that they were speaking of or the cheating males. It lets me know that I am dealing with a serious person(s) who actually is putting their money where their mouth(or other parts) is.

One reason free members are maligned (besides being cheaters and pic collectors) is lots of free profiles are set up simply to collect "live" email addresses for porn sites etc. I've written to free members on AFF, females and couples, and when doing so I sometimes offer an email address, since apparently they aren't able to reply with their free acct, and for my effort (their profiles are often quite convincing) I end up getting SPAM in my inbox. So, as a paid member at Swing Lifestyle and AFF, I almost never write to free members anymore. I second what WesternSwing says: no harm in spending for a month or two to see if you're serious, and to be taken seriously!! |

| I'm not sure what that was supposed to mean. Is that what you meant to say?

Whether someone has paid for membership or belongs to a certain group does not dictate if we will meet with them. BUT, it may be a symptom of other issues that we don’t want to invite into our lives: 1. People posing to be something they are not 2. A couple who is not aligned with their desires and one half of them is fishing to set up their fantasy situation (“my wife doesn’t know but if you would just meet us, she would go for it”) 3. A couple who is equally uncertain about what they want and where they are going with their exploration into swinging. This isn’t a bad thing…but it is a potential source of negative drama or wasted time. Some couples don't want to take the chance. (mostly because they were burned from a bad experience) What I can tell you though is that when we have been misled or had our time wasted, it has primarily been by free members. But, again, that was just a perspective on why some would block non-paid members…and again, our choice is to consider everyone at first and then draw our conclusions from there. Sorry folks what i meant to say was we wouldnt swing with people who treated free members bad.If they treat free memebrs bad then that tells a lot about a person.and another thing now you can see why i got bad grades when i had to write an essay in school.I would never want to insult or hurt anyones feelings,on purpose Ron |

Well I was a free member of Swing Lifestyle for a while. ALmost 2 years. Me and DH just decided a month ago to go with the lifetime. We have had alot of sucess at that site being non paid so we figure yah! Lets get free and actually be able to see people's faces first haha. And there are a few other advatages. There realy were only a few I saw that hide thier profiles from free memebers. And I totally understand where they are coming from. I think most people that are paid are for real. But honestly 100 and something dollars for a lifetime really isn't that much even for single men to pose on seriously. So I look at paid members the same way I look at non paid members. I was a member of AFF but there are alot of fake profiles on that site and to be honest that site just felt like a huge waist of time. My time is limited and to go threw a ton of fake profiles is crazy. And there was alot of single men on there. With Swing Lifestyle I knwo there is alot of single men but I have them blocked because that isn't what we are looking for. |
