i think that it does matter.... but of course that's my own opinion. i have had 8.5inches, and 5 inches.. i prefered the 8.5, he was also larger in the girth area as well.

I'm not too turned on by extra large penises. My favorite position is doggy-style and that tends to hurt if the penis is too long or if your cries for help are mistaken as cries of pleasure. If they are extremely large or extremely small, it can cause a few issues, but it can be worked around. I echo Dare2Share's comments about giving blow jobs to very large men though...I like to be able to get it all in my mouth. Very small ones...well, I've never seen one up close smaller than about four inches (and skinny too),a long time ago. But there are certainly lots of ways to make the experience enjoyable for all.

I personally dont think size matters to be totally honest.
I was blessed with being well endowed in both length and girth, but I have personally seen my wife recieve quite a bit of satisfaction from a partner smaller than me. I don't enjoy intercourse with very large, larger than 8" long. My husband is 8" long and girth of 5 and 3/4", which is about the max I can handle and not fear the pain. Even with hubby, he has to be careful with me especially in certain positions. I wouldn't enjoy it with any bigger than that, and if I'm not enjoying it, why bother? My cervix doesn't appreciate a battering ram.

Smaller ones are perfectly fine. But to be completely honest, very thin ones aren't as fun as thicker ones.
