Apples to oranges here...clubs are not at all like strip joints. Interesting how people tend to lump these two things together with Adult Book Stores and other "alternative" venues.

The Sun is a "newspaper" with a well know tabloid bias and I'm sure it was more than happy to give the spokesperson for the Exotic Dancers Association a platform to vent - sex, swingers, strippers, fight! - what's not for a scandal rag to like? The clubs I know of in TO are careful to make sure they meet all of the zoning and legal requirements. Zealous city councillors have attempted to close clubs in their ridings in recent history without success. That's not saying clubs here are impervious to legal action, but I think it would take more than one complaint from an association mouthpiece and a news story in the Sun to do so. |
