Owner Sandy Partlow last month petitioned her property to be zoned as a campground. That was the result of a complaint sent to Morgan County officials and local media about adult parties taking place at the property - advertised on a swingers website - and charging admission.

That is too funny, and it would happen in Martinsville. They say its in the middle of an area where there are kids present, but from what i see of the video and pictures, theres only one other house even remotely close, and its owned by that ignorant old man quoting scripts from the bible as a platform to dispute a political matter.

I would tell the people trying to set this up to move their business west about 60 miles and north of the Terre Haute/Brazil area. Plenty of secluded ground out there, plus the only neighbors you would have are the Amish, and suprisingly they are pretty tolerant of things like that, so long as you dont try to drag them into it.

In response, the Morgan County Planning Office sent a notice to the owners to stop running a business called "Oasis of Chetwynd" until they got zoning approval. The planning director told Eyewitness News to run an adult business, they would need a different kind of zoning and they haven't filed that yet.

Although one of the advertisements sent with the complaint describes it as a "clothing optional campground," Partlow gave a different story to a local newspaper.

I am not too sympathetic.

If you advertise on the net and ask for money for a service you provide, you're going into business and letting the world know about it. The first thing Sandy Partlow should have done was get her business set up and in order; acquire the zoning, apply for a business permit, and take it from there.

The chances are high that opposition would come from setting up a business like this. The comments from people who don't want her operating are to be expected.

When I read articles like this I'm not frustrated with the neighbor's comments, I'm frustrated reading another story in the news about a swinger who doesn't have the common sense to go about starting a business like a smart business person would.

I just wonder exactly what kind of zoning that an on-premise club would fall under. Its not bar(even though theres liquor there, its not being sold but brought by individuals so no liquor license is required) Its not a strip club(nobody is getting paid to bare their ass), I mean the only thing they could really zone if for is maybe a dance club, or night club.

I guess the U.S. zoning commission needs to go back and think up a new zoning law targeted to on-premise swinger clubs.

I agree. If folks that wanted to open any type of swinging establishment would spend a few minutes reading the Swingers in the News stories we link on here, they would know that the first thing they should do is get a lawyer, then do every single thing by the book. It doesn't mean the Gladys Kravitz folks of the community won't come after them, but it does make it harder for them to shut you down.

Isnt that what we are doing by making places like this, that way the kids dont come home early from the movies and find mommy and daddy with another man and woman doing things that the kids shouldnt see?

No. I don't want my kids coming home from the movies and seeing me and the Mrs. doing things that the kids shouldn't see regardless. Creating a swingers club or camp ground or what ever you want to call it is about concentration of individuals with similar interests.

If this place is on a 20 acres and has buildings where people play inside they should be left alone.

Playing outside at night is also fine. What does the surrounding community have , night vision goggles. People that are trespassing on private property to sneak a peak should be arrested as peeping toms.

Don't bother the adults that are just enjoying life's given pleasures

The place Needs proper fencing to keep the curious children out.

However, Have you read what kids do to day, oral sex is not sex, friends with benefits.
