The story in the local papers is a bit misleading how it is explained. Yes, this is the same guys that own the Power Exchange in San Fransisco. They opened here last year and have not done all that well. They have a great operation in California and had hoped to expand it to Vegas. They cater to more of the Fetish Groups then they do Swingers but Swingers are always welcome. They are playing with words on how they are involved. They lease the building, they hold parties but they did have another small business owned by someone else in there that did have a business license. Since you can not get a license as a "swingers club" in Las Vegas they went with that. The county has been on their case since the day they opened. They have not caused any real problems at all. They just don't have a license to do business here. Since that is the case, they are now saying the county is going after them even though they "Never did business here". The Sex Club law the county is using is very Vague and under pressure I am betting it will not hold up. There is more to the law then what is being printed in the paper here though. The attorney they hired is big time. He takes on battles like this at a very high price but he is very good at what he does. This case will drag on in court for a few years and we shall see what happens. The Power Exchange had lost their building in San Fransisco so they opened here in Vegas. They all the time had planned on reopening in California once they found a new home there. Vegas was a good test for them and I think they have found that the Fetish crowd here does not support things very well so their business we nothing like they did in California. The owners are great people and know what they are doing. This will be an expensive battle for them but nice to see someone else take the battle on for once. They are putting their money where their beliefs are and that is very rare in todays world. Only time will tell how this will work out. The county does not like people that fight back so they tend to drag it out for years rather then letting it get into court. |
