He is accused of sexually assaulting a 10 year girl and out on bail?
Unbelievable! I firmly believe in innocent until proven guilty but this asshole has a track record.
Then again, if it was my daughter he assaulted, I think I'd like him to be out bail. There would be no trial, except mine.

The US and our friends up north need to get tougher on child molestation. After the second conviction, chemical castration would be a good deterrent. Somebody might think again if they knew their balls were at stake.

I'd have to agree with lovinher. If he was out on bail... the judge and jury would probably be me if I were her parent. It's known that child molesters don't do well in jail. I wonder if being on the outs is any easier.

Every case of this kind reminds me that a sexual predator can very seldom be reformed. Everybody has a right to the presumption of innocence but if your terms of release say don't go near any kids, and you do, you ought to be put away immediately .

I'm not an expert but I have a strong feeling that cutting somebody's nuts off would have very little effect. This is all about having power over someone who is defenseless; not about hormones. My wife and I have an emotional attachment to this issues as we are acquainted with a family that has been broken apart by one member who molested young members starting when they were early age. The woman JoAnn knows best among the family can go nowhere without thinking to herself, "I'm the woman whose husband is a sexual predator and everybody know it." JoAnn and I can visit any Megan's Law Web site and see his picture as well as read his address. Our hearts break for the family members and friends who are innocent. And nobody knows completely what damage the children have suffered and what suffering they will face in the future.

As for this guy characterizing himself as a swinger, I have mixed feelings on that. On one hand, I think, so what if a few people are scared away by bad press like this? As long as just the right number of people understand what it really is, we'll be OK and the sun will still rise tomorrow. On the other hand, I live under no illusion that "it can't happen here." The best defense is represented by the existence of credible sources of information like this bulletin board.

I agree. I don't think the stereotype of swingers being a pedophile are very strong. I think the stereotypes of swingers being involved in illegal drugs and being promiscuous may be the motives that are behind opposition groups to shut swinger clubs down.

Haters gonna hate. Illegal drugs/promiscuity are their straw man arguments, along with "Think of the children!"
Bottom line is they don't approve of swinging.

Anything not normal, like swinging, BDSM, hell, even Foot Worship, is wrong in their eyes, and must be stopped

I actually do not necessarily see some of the stereotypes as hate. For instance, you mention the stereotypes of promiscuity and illegal drugs. I could see someone believing in these stereotypes and having a swinger as a best friend. They could hate the act but not the person doing the act. I do make a distinction between finding an act wrong and actually hating the person doing the act. However, that does not change fact that their thinking is OBJECTIVELY flawed.

Lastly, in response to the illegal drugs and promiscuity that is often associated with swingers. My theory is that swinger clubs are probably most likely targeted unfairly by the police as a health hazard because of perceived excessive promiscuity and of course illegal drugs. This stereotype goes far beyond talking bad about another group. It probably inspires legal authorities who are influenced by this bias to shutdown swingers clubs or even arrest those who operate them. I have heard about some swingers who have complained about this but I can not confirm how common this is. I suspect that it is pretty common.

Damn, I've had my posts misunderstood before, but you just took the prize.

OK, "Haters gonna hate" is a phrase the cool kids are using these days. It doesn't mean actual "hate".

It's not usually the police that target clubs. It's the fire marshal. In my experience, more clubs are closed due to fire code violations than any other reason. The secondary reason clubs are closed are due to alcohol violations (No ABC permit usually).

The people that want it shut down cite illegal drugs and STDs. The method of shutting down the club are those I listed above.


I'm struggling to see what your motivation is. You have stated you aren't a swinger, nor have any desire to be a swinger. You are more concerned with how others perceive swinging, and changing their perception, than the majority of us are. It seems as if you are living vicariously through the swinging members of the board. Is this accurate?

It's a real stretch to make the "assault a 10 year old" to "swinger" connection...

Your understanding of the term swinger and pedophile has to be really out of whack to make that connection...I'm not surprised to hear it...

Making a connection between our hobby and pedophilia is absurd...while there are those that will make a mockery of what we do they CANNOT make a connection to pedophilia...it just doesn't happen...the pedophiliacs were into kids well before the term swinger got mentioned...

I, for one, am tired of being connected to some "sickness"...

People who chose to hurt children should be quickly placed UNDER the jail...while I feel pity for those of us who are not wired properly I CANNOT allow them to walk around in society and hurt our most vulnerable members.
