My daughter, who lives and work in Hollywood, tells me that there is no such thing as bad publicity. I'm not so sure. The owners and operators of the club called "Twist" must be pretty uncomfortable about this kind of exposure.

I don't really see it as that bad of publicity for the club.... I guess I'd be a little concerned, but you can sneak a gun into anywhere.

This story does bring up a good point... what if something happens to you at a swinger club... what do you tell others? He had to come up with a story, unfortunately he came up with the wrong one ... one that caused him more harm than he'd already had.

They had a heart attack and an accident with a sex swing which both required an ambulance to come to a club near us. Really though unless it was a legal issue no one would need to know.

If it was a legal issue, I'd just hope it was a really busy news day, say major terrorist attack, so the reporters had something better to do than get all salacious.

A shooting, however, would require a police report... which would state where you were... and I can see where someone might feel the need to lie about why they were where they were. Guessing he probably wishes he'd told the truth now.

Interesting story... The way I read that, though, he wasnt lying to cover his whereabouts due to embarassment or fear of repurcussions. I think he was lying so he could file a fraudulent workmen's comp suit. Note how he specifically said it was a "parolee" and was moving forward filing a claim for $2.5M.

Thats some real balls... Take something that you know was within your private life and likely at least partially your fault, and try to pass a nice bill for it onto tax payers who trust that the money in these cases is going to officers who were genuinely hurt in the line of duty and so *deserve* to get compensation from society.

He could have just said it was an altercation at a bar, or that he was outside of that club, or that he remotely knew the guy.

It seems like they didnt even look very closely until he tried to get away with the $2.5M
