Really, if the conservatives around here found out that swinging was going on, we'd be stoned to death too.

I doubt the conservatives in your area would want to stone you. And I'm going to skirt the rules and say that I have a real problem with the extreme Muslim religious government being compared to "conservatives" or being conservative.

By conservative, I mean controlled and firm. In fact, that's the way I read it. I meant no offense.

Perhaps "fundamentalists" would be a better word. There is not a doubt in my mind that there are people fitting that description in our neck of the woods that without hesitation would agree the punishment is appropriate for the "crime" and in fact believe that is what we need more of in our society.

Fundamentalist crazy is crazy, doesn't matter what flavor it comes in, and it's not limited to any one culture or belief system.
