Another misuse of the word "swingers"

And people wonder why I'm a stickler on the definition.

Perhaps there is more to the background that is not revealed that indicates they were swingers or there is journalistic negligence in not properly applying the term like you are implying. Not taking sides, just offering alternative perspective.

Same subject, just different example. I was watching one of those Sex in the Ancient World type shows recently and the talking head expert was describing sex parties thrown by the rich and powerful where the host would pay whole groups of prostitutes to come for the night and entertain his guests to show his status. The expert then completed his history lesson by stating something like "the modern world's version of this would be swingers."

Which is more surprising? People that don't know the definition of the term "Swinger/Swinging" or people that do not do adequate research in the plying of their trade and as a result end up misleading the public. Is it any wonder a lot of misgivings are created due to misunderstanding.
