Kilburn Times - Outrage over former swingers’ club

evidently they got shut down as a swinger club and now from the looks of it are trying to re-open under the radar.

residents had complained of 'persistent thumping music' in the early hours of the morning outside of permitted hours and people looking for sex knocking on their doors.

Makes you wonder why people think Swingers are strange.

I'm all about live and let live and all of that, but come knocking on my door in the wee hours when I'm asleep, sex or no sex, I'm gonna be pissed. Some people just don't have a clue.

I would not be at all surprised if the claims of people knocking on doors in the wee hours of the morning were entirely fabricated. I mean come on. Imagine this scenario (I'll bet you can't imagine it being real):

Wife: "Well, we're done with that club for the evening."
Husband: "Yep. Hey, let's go knock on the door of that house over there, see if those people are up for sex"
Wife: "What? You serious?"
HUsband: "Sure. I mean, they live next door. They know it's a swingers club. They're living there for a reason."
Wife: "But the lights are all off!"
Husband: "So? What did you expect, a red light on the porch?"
Wife: "Come on. Let's go home."
Husband: "Oh come on, it'll be fun! What's behind door #1? <laugh>"
Wife: "<laugh> ok let's go"
...
<knock knock>
Sleepy-eyed home owner: "What the ? What do you want?"
Wife/Husband: "Hi! We just stopped by because, well, you know, your house is right next door to this swingers club and we thought you might be game for some sex with strangers tonight, yeah?"
<door slam>
Husband: "Well, they must have already got some. Let's try that house over there..."

That area of London,presumably Kilburn is very much a working class area but the people applying for the Permits appear somewhat shady and not likely to attract the right clientel.

Host or run a large Swingers club for over 15 years and that would not surprise you at all.

If I took to heart all the really stupid things I see people do each night I would have to shoot myself for thinking that I am even part of this nonsense.

Good thing I am easy going and know that the fools of this world where provided as nothing more then cheap entertainment to me.

I don't doubt the power of human stupidity. But, I still seriously doubt this has happened in the news case described.
