I'm surprised that it took them this long to find out about it. Probably the woman complaining was surfing the web, or her husband was, looking for swingers in their neighborhood.

The comments being posted on that news site are interesting.

Most everyone there is defending the right to have the convention due to the economy. Those defending are supporting the fact that it costs $1000 per couple and that is bringing money into their town.

So far, nothing negative being posted. Amazing what the "public" will put up with to save their local economy.

I have a son attending college in Buffalo and if there was ever an area that needed a boost to their economy it is the American side of the Falls. We won't be attending the convention but it appears that it will be a lot of fun for those that do attend.

Body painting is illegal in that town? Who would have thought that! There were several things "changed" at SwingFest as we were there, this is not really surprising.

Hmmm.... I have heard about some "after hours" parties that used to happen at my home VFW post back in the 70s...

You know, we are supposed to go to Entice on Saturday. We probably still will, but I have to say that this media coverage is making me have second thoughts. Not that I care what people think, but I really don't want to be on the 6 o'clock news walking into the hotel.

We've been following the controversy about Entice the Falls ever since a friend of ours breathlessly called to inform us that "The swingers are coming".
It was interesting, to say the least, to sit quietly giggling as the most "vanilla" of my friends, and his wife, explained what the Lifestyle was all about and what was going to happen this weekend on Grand Island.
Sometimes it is eye opening to listen to your "Vanilla" friends tell you what your lifestyle choice is all about, and how it is affecting them and their city.

So, what exactly was their explanation of the lifestyle? Beyond the opinions of right or wrong, what I always find interesting is what the vanillas think the "reasons" are behind it.

Hotel workers: Would you object to working at the hotel during the convention?

This was an issue at Swingfest. Seems right off the bat some couple hit up one of the cute ladies at the registration desk. By noon on the first day there was a notice posted in every room that hotel staff were off the menu and there was to be no nudity in common areas of the hotel as well as the pool and beach. Though I think the rules were violated a couple of times at the pool, and we know they were at the beach.

That's an important issue for any hotel hosting an event whether it's a swinger party for one night or a weekend take-over. Most events I've dealt with the hosts were smart enough to discuss that with the hotel owners ahead of time and make sure that those employees who had to deal with the attendees were ok with it and knew what they were getting into. Nothing worse than ended up with someone at the hotel giving the guests a hard time because they don't like the reason the guests are there.

Side note on doing events at hotels and employees.

When we where working with the Lifestyles Org. Most of the hotels that hosted the event would ask for volunteers on their staff to work. They where paid but not required to work if the convention would offend them.

Seems each hotel had more people volunteer then they needed to take care of the convention.

At ALL of the hotels the employees where told that if they "partied" with anyone from the convention they would be FIRED on the spot. Did not matter if they where on duty or off they where not to get involved at all.

Notices some years had to be put in the rooms by Lifestyles Org. telling the guests to leave the staff members alone as to not get them fired.

Some guests honored the wishes of the host and the hotel, some did not. Some hotels also said the convention could NOT come back because of the actions of some guests. A few always feel the need to ruin it for the rest.
