The grandmother worried about her grandkids playing half a mile away from the club...come on. If they were right next door with people having sex in the backyard and no visual/audio barrier between the playing kids and the consenting adults, ok. But that's not what is happening here. Besides which, by the time 'the party' would get going, her grandkids should looooooong be in bed.

And I despise comments like "I’d be concerned with what kind of people they’d be drawing there" made by a town supervisor. There's not study one that shows any negative effects on crime by the presence of a swing club. To Pitkin I say, GROW UP and make some rational decisions.

Absolutely ridiculous. What we do inside a "private" building that is rented, is our business, no one elses, as long as it stays inside. Next they are going to be telling us we can't have sex in our own homes.

I don't know. I'm sure it would shock her to know there are people having sex within half a mile of her own home. The depravity!

People have strong and often not entirely rational reactions when children are involved. No matter how "enlightened" they may be. And there are a lot of people who will use children as an excuse to justify their disapproval of behavior that they don't agree with, playing on the fact (consciously or otherwise) that they can get a lot of people to agree with them if it is
"for the children's sake." So, it is indeed an easy lie to stir up hate of something they don't agree with.

You know what, though? I have noticed a trend recently on articles like this where the comments are overwhelming in favor of live and let live. I won't say they're all necessarily pro-swinger, though a good bunch of them are, but there are but a handful of posts that are negative in any way. Looking back in time a year or two ago it seems to me that wasn't usually the situation, I wonder if our society is changing faster than any of us can imagine?
