Default Club keeps business license, for now (PA)

This looks like it's going to be a club, based on the description.

Despite outcry, adult club can keep its license. -GoErie.com

A large group of people, including members of the Titusville religious community, pleaded with Titusville City Council members at their May 26 meeting to block the arrival of the proposed Burning Embers Club by reversing their decision on granting the license.

City Manager Pennie Maclean said Tuesday that the decision to issue the license rested with city administration, and not council, and was done in following the requirements of Titusville's adult-oriented business license ordinance.

Here in Nevada there are background checks for moral character for many business licenses. At first you think gaming, liquor and such but many very common licenses require the same background checks.

If you want to own a Ice Cream Truck in this state you will go through a background check that takes about six months. Hot dog carts are the same thing. Federal background check that mostly comes down to moral character issues.

Amazing how sometimes I learn unexpected and interesting things by reading this Board. Certainly never would have expected to learn about this, least of all here!

"Welcome to Nevada, where brothels are legal and you can best on just about anything.

If you want to start a business though, you need to submit to a moral character background check. Yes, even if you want to open a brothel"

Wow.

Hmmm, Titusville. That's our part of the country. We'll have to check this out.

What sorts of things would cause one to fail said "morale background check"?
