Seems some of the property owners don't care for Caliente reaching out to the swinging community.

If a family bought property with the understanding that is was "family friendly" nudist community, I can understand why they'd be a little upset if all of a sudden it was being marketed to and adult oriented convention like Swingfest.

One isn't better/worse than the other, it's just an apples and oranges situation. I certainly wouldn't want to take my kids to a place like!

It's a bad job by the Caliente management in my opinion.

Wow, that's a big change from when we were there in 2006. Swingers stayed hush-hush when we were there.

I wonder why the owners changed their focus?

For those of you who haven't been, there are many permanent homes there and children. I have to take the side of the homeowners on this one.

There are plenty of nudist resorts that are adult only... ones that allow children SHOULD NOT cross over into the swinging realm (whether quietly or not).

I agree 100%. Not that swinging doesnt happen in even the family resorts, it must fly well below the radar. The nudist resort we first went to was where we got our first real push into swinging by getting offers from other couples. We got them though, well out of sight and hearing of any children, and all activities are held inside private dwelling or outside the resort. For the public areas though any too friendly contact is frowned upon greatly.

Have been to Caliente 4 times. Met some great couples. They had a weekly (Sunday) dinner party for the swingers. But the swinging went on under the radar.

Glad we didn't buy property there like we were thinking! It'd be worthless now.

But, on the other hand, you can pick up some property there real cheap, I expect. So there is a silver lining.

We have friends who own property there and their opinion is that when this blows over nothing will have changed.

During the half-dozen trips we've taken to Caliente we've wondered how much swinging goes on "under the radar". Based on the fact that most of the women float around in the pool and manage to never mess-up their make-up and hair and that no one under 18 is allowed in the club house after 9:00 pm told us what we wanted to know.

We have been over there for one Aahz Party and had a great time. A bit pricey but a great deal of fun. And let's face it, Aahz is for swingers. I imagine the enormous amount of money that swingers, as a community, spent in one weekend helped the management make the decision to open up to the swing community. As far as we know, there have been no "incidents" to speak of.

One member commented that the way the pricing structure is arranged allows people to use the facility at a greatly reduced rate compared to a yearly membership. The non-AANR fees, daily use fees, room charges and the cost of food and drinks can get pricey in a hurry and they felt that the management had over done it when they reduced the rates to attract people to their establishment.

I imagine that once an equilibrium is reached between the swingers (many) and nudists (few) this will be forgotten. And remember, as we checked-in on our first visit, we were told that overt sexual acts were not permitted in the pool/clubhouse area. I always took that to mean that what you do is okay, so long as it's kept "under the radar".

Looks like a blogger opposed to the Caliente move has tried to appear to be part of a local church.
Bonus: Church is really pissed off by this move, and seeks help from the police in tracking down the blogger.
