Both of the parties that the reporter went to ended up getting closed down.

One of the "hosts" started a very public war between the two places to the point they involved the Mormon Church in it. Once that happened elected officials got involved and all hell broke lose here in the Valley.

The Host couple that started this was had been banned from all the other places in Vegas prior to them hosting for the owners of both of those other parties. Once the courts got involved this couple ran back to Texas where they had come from. Before leaving though they proceeded to get on line and file 100's of false complaints on other long time places here in Vegas.

The remaining parties here in town have had to deal with the fall out of the actions of one couple. Now there is another couple here in town that has taken up the cause of the couple that ran off. They are filing complaints with the county on everyone in town except where they are hosting. Their idea is everyone else closes down they will be able to make something of the place they host at.

This is the type of things that causes the press, elected officials, county agencies and the general public to think we are all scum bag cheaters. It brings us all into a bad light no matter how well we take care of things. They only end up seeing on side of it when it hits the press and courts.

It is hard to understand just what I am saying until you have had to stand in front of a judge and explain your lifestyle and what you are doing is not against the law. Does not make for a good time when having to do that either.

Best to always be careful of who you talk to at times, you never know when you have someone trying to put you under or put you on the news.

When you visit a club, you are paying for the use of the facilities, any food that is provided, the DJ if they have one. you dont have to have sex with anyone, can if you find someone you connect with, but that happens in vanilla clubs and regular bars where you pay a cover charge as well. the only differance is you are more likely to be hooking up with a couple rather than simply meeting a single person, although that can happen at a regular bar as well.

Interested has a good point, you do not see them shutting down vanilla bars just because the patrons go have sex elsewhere. Its the old puritan idea that having sex with someone other than your SO is adultery. Of course drinking to excess and going home with someone you might regret is an American tradition. Yes, this is something very real that hosts must consider. Our attorney, who I have spent way to much time with has advised us that we are NOT TO PLAY if we are "working" and dealing with the money in any way.

Your right, the county is wasting a great deal of taxpayers money, I am talking they are out over $100,000 so far on this witch hunt they have going on.

This is not the first time we have gone through this. In 25 years the county has chased us four times in the past and they lost at great expense to them and us.

Just because some can not do as we have done for 25 years they feel the need to see us fall. The only one making anything off this is the attorney's and it makes for many, many sleepless nights.

It frustrates the crap out of me how we are portrayed in the press, and the knee jerk, back woods, puritanically inspired reactions from people who have no actual knowledge, but instead respond with nonsense inspired by fear.

I don't know what the answer is, perhaps like any civil rights issue we'll just have to wait it out. As a machocist, I will go online and debate people whenever an issue like this comes up in a public forum, but I don't know if it does any good. I can't imagine in most jurisdictions that the activities in and of themselves are illegal, if so we REALLY need some updated laws. I think, as often as not they get tripped up by zoning or other technical, but trivial reasons.

The biggest issue I see in the article that Bama posted was the fact that "they" (the hosts/home owners) were running a club out of a residence. THAT was pretty stupid. To run any business out of a residence, I think you're supposed to have a license.

Why would you throw it in a neighborhood's face? This isn't arguing how "out" we should be, but come on. If I were a 20-something year old parent and didn't know much about the lifestyle, I'd be nervous if a swing club (and it's reputation of drugs and terrible things) were located in my 'hood. Who wouldn't?

So -- to answer the question -- yes, we're 'ho's. And I *love* being a 'ho

LOL, some of these posts are great, and as I stated in my OP it was an older article I ran across, last year in june I think.

NOW what I want to know is why can't a lawyer and a judge understand,
1)the money up front is a cover charge, much like a bar or night club
2) the money covers the amenities (food, shelter, music etc.) Like a bar or night club
3) we get lucky just like a bar or night club, only difference is we have a better chance as we are all there of like minds, it really is more of a private club like say some of the military clubs American Military League, Disabled American Vetrans Etc.

I mean come on some clubs charge a membership and that seems like it should be allowed and labled "PRIVATE CLUB" a members only kinda deal, Right?
