Just came across this book review via Google today. Has anyone read it or have any knowledge of the author? Link |

I had ran across an article about this book and its author a couple of weeks ago. One of the first things to get my attention was "Another book about swinging that is not written by a swinger." Seems most of the well know "swingers books" are not written by swingers. Always someone on the out side looking in. To me this is like a food critic writing reviews of food that other people have eaten. |

The alternative would be to have food critics writing only about meals which they have prepared. That doesn't seem like a very fair way to go about it either. I think it helps for an author to have some distance between himself and his subject. In fact, it's the only way to see it fairly and from all angles. The best book I ever read about swinging was "The Lifestyle" by Terry Gould. It was very fair and very accurate. I don't recall the author being a swinger though, just an observer of swingers. Kind of like Jane Goodall and her Gorillas. | |
