Smile Lifestyle cruise question

My wife and I would love to take a cruise being billed as a Lifestyle Takeover cruise. We have been to Desire, loved it, and thought the idea of something similar on a cruise would be great.

Here's the question though: while we are not swingers, we loved Desire and had a great time in an adult themed atmosphere. We were asked several times while at Desire if we played or shared and we said no. We did not lead anyone on and know that is rude to begin with. I've talked with a few other couples in the lifestyle and asked them if they thought we would be out of place to go on the cruise. They said all types of people go on this kind of venue and we should go and enjoy.

Before we book, I am looking for more input. Would we be out of place if we don't swing? We will not lead anyone on and waste their time. But we do enjoy making friends and are outgoing. And we really enjoy the clothing optional, sexy clothes, and theme party atmosphere this presents.

Your input please

We're new to the lifestyle but visited clubs to check it out before deciding to swing. We felt very welcomed there, even though people knew we weren't there to swing. I would book the cruise and have a great time!

Is this a complete ship takeover, or just within a regular cruise trip?

It is a complete cruise ship takeover so around 1000 couples expected. Several decks are sold out already.

Do you and your wife play with each other in front of others? If so that is very in the lifestyle.

If you are just open minded and enjoy the excitement I also think there is a spot for that in the lifestyle, after all, we exhibitionists have to have someone to exhibit for.

In short, I have NO problem with you going on the cruise. No always means no and a polite No works whether you are gay, straight, bi, swingers or vanilla.

In fact, I'd share a table with you, I bet it would be fun.

We have not been on a swinger cruise yet, though, intend to do so soon. However, we have vacationed at quite a few swinger lifestyle resorts. At the resorts, we have been asked by other couples if we would like to play. There was never any pressure to play with and swap partners for sex. If one wanted to play, that was fine; if not a simple "no thanks" was always honored in the best traditions of the Lifestyle.

The Lifestyle cruises should not be any different. In other words, playing with other couples and swapping mates for sex, is entrirely upto you as a couple. No need to be embarassed or feel out of place, if you do not swing. Our suggestion-go on the cruise and enjoy the sexually charged atmosphere with your wife.

Thanks for the feedback. We did not want to intrude but would sure look forward to the fun. And who knows, we just might learn something! Always love to make new friends. Like most other people, we have two sets of friends, those that have no idea we like to do this kind of fun, and those that are in a small group that we can be more open with.

Really looking forward to it!

Probably not. I would venture to guess that, if the cruise is anything like what's happening at the clubs these days, then there will be quite a few non-swingers on the "lifestyle cruise".

I certainly echo what others have said in the above posts- Book your trip and enjoy.

I have never been on a lifestyle cruise and I am making my first trip to Hedonism this November. I have met some great people online in discussions about Hedonism and learned they do not swing or share and simply enjoy the atmosphere at Hedonism.

Enjoy yourselves, and enjoy the lasting friendships you will make from the cruise. The lifestyle is not only about the sex among other people, and most will tell you the conversation, flirting, friendships and fun forged with others is what the lifestyle is truly about. Sex is simply the icing on the cake!

What you will mostly enjoy about being around people in the lifestyle is your freedom to do and say things most of us cant say at work around the coffee pot!

When asked to play, you can simply reply with a "No Thank You". It is all about your comfort and enjoyment. You may find that during conversation you make it known you dont play but simply love the conversation friendship...

Bottom Line- BOOK IT!

The beauty of this lifestyle is that there are no rules other than "no means no". By all means, enjoy the cruise. You don't have to play with anyone and can politely refuse any invitations to do so. However, I'd suggest that you both keep an open mind and an attitude open to the possibilities.

I just want to interject a little here. I'm not a swinger either, never have been, never will be. Just not my thing, but my SO is a swinger. We go to an on-premise club where he and I hang out with friends, shoot pool, and play with each other in one of the public play areas (We're both voyeurs and exhibitionists). Sometimes he has the opportunity to play with a couple as part of a MFM or with a single lady. I however never play with anyone but him. That's something that is always stated up front so there's never any confusion later. Most people at the club have no problem with that and have embraced me as a friend. There have been a few instances though where couples have made me feel as if I don't belong and that if I'm at a swingers club then I should be swinging and not just playing with my own SO.

My point is, by all means go on the cruise and have a good time. You'll probably find many great people to hang out and have non-sexual fun with, just be aware that you may run across one or two couples who are going to have snide things to say about you even being there if you don't intend to play with anyone else. Let those peoples remarks just roll off your back. Enjoy the sun, fun, and the making of new friends!

Thanks to everyone for their positive and supportive input. It supports the few comments I had heard prior to posting this inquiry. We will make our decision next week but at this point, I don't see any reason we would say no and miss one of the few opportunities to enjoy the kind of fun a cruise like this can provide.

Part of the fun is shopping for some special outfits. We did that for our trip to Desire and found it to be a very nice buildup to the actual trip

Will keep following this for other input and suggestions.

We will be going on the April cruise and want to have some friendships there. We have not swapped with others and not sure what her limits will be when we are out to sea. We have been to on-premise clubs and played with just each other in the group rooms. We had loads of fun doing that....Anybody going in April???
