| Life is good!  Join Date: Jul 2008 Posts: 87 Location: Olathe, KS Status: Married Couple Swing Lifestyle Name:KStateCpl  |  Is this a sign?? OK - it's all too weird! Long story made short, we have some acquaintances from out of state (we know him pretty well - we've met her once briefly). We will be spending some time with them over the upcoming weekend, and there's been talk for a week or so of it possibly being our first "encounter" if things work out.  So anyway, the two of us go out for dinner tonight at a local Chinese buffet, and our fortune cookies read as follows: Hers: "Soon someone new in your life will become a very good friend." His: "You will enjoy doing something different this coming weekend." I'm not kidding -- is that just weird or what??  |

Then again, it also reminds me of that Simpson's episode where Homer is having dinner at a Chinese place with his new coworker Mindy, while away on business. It read, "You will find a new love." He interprets this as meaning he was destined to have an affair with her. Meanwhile, the employees in the Chinese restaurant are in the back room, telling the manager that they're almost out of fortune cookies. He tells them to open up the barrel of "Stick with your wife" ones.  Hopefully, your encounter will live up to your fortunes. And if it does, can I get directions to that restaurant? I could use a fortune like that! =)

(*laughing*) ... my folks had a small "mom & pop"-style chinese restaraunt so I've seen a million different fortunes over the years (yeah - I was "free-labor" for them as a teenager). So far, my favorite is: "You like chinese food"
