Going to a lifestyle resort

One of the many reasons we've not been. You'll find Desire has a classier mode of operation.

She will be pampered by the Desire staff. You're such a wonderful hubby for thinking of that. You can call ahead and have champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in the room and/or flowers.

We're going for our 10th in March.

Dont get me wrong, but, when she is happy, I am happy. That smile of hers is worth more than all the gold in fort knox. Her laugh is like the song of angels. So, It is all aobut making and keeping her happy.
Thanks for the heads up on the strawberries and Champagne. I know that her intention is to have breakfast in bed more days than not. She is simply too excited aobut getting up, walking to the patio or balcony nude and sitting int he sun sipping coffee and eating her breakfast. What better life is there?
We got the passion suite so that she could just relax in the hottub whenever she wants. It also comes in handy if a thunder storm comes in and we are having fun with others. Just move the party!!!
Like I said, I want this to be the best vacation she has ever had. If it is the best in her mind, I know I will be a VERY HAPPY boy!!!

Hello CXXC, you're going to have a fantastic time at Desire. You won't regret getting the passion suite either. We were there in March of this year and last. We've also been to both Hedo's a few times. The main differences are:

No singles- I had no worries if Tam wanted to party some more after I wanted to crash for the night. Didn't feel that way at Hedo. Just felt safer with all couples there.

Not as wild- kinda tame compared to Hedo II. We usually had to be the ones to get the body shots going Not the usual in your face sex that happens at Hedo. More laid back compared to Hedo

Better food- food was great compared to Hedo being so-so. Also have 24 hr room service.

Better service- the staff was superb. Certainly not on island time. No waiting in lines at the bar because they wait on you around the pool or beach area.

Diving- free at Hedo, pay extra at Desire.

You've got the right attitude though. Go without any expectations except having a great vacation with your love. Enjoy.

I must admit, the diving at Hedo was one of the perks I will miss. Out by 9 back by 12:00 and right from the resort. Being included int he package was also a draw. However, The pluses you mention for Desire seem to make up for it.
Having to wait for a drink did get old.
The fact that I could never really leave my wife alone for any extended periods of time did get to be a pain as well. I would even have to walk her to the room in the day. Seemed there was a gardener there that really wanted to "Get to know her better" as he put it. sigh. The price of beauty.
As for being tame: Everything I have read on the boards speaks of a "Not-so-tame" nature of the hot tub at night and the play room at the disco. That being said, I am more than certain that if we want to get involved, it will only be a matter of hanging out around there at the active times. Would this be correct?
How is the entertainment at the resort? What are some of the games the entertainment crew come up with? Are the theme nights heavily participated in?

CXXC - "Not so tame" at Desires usually depends if there is a take over or a large swingers club present when you are there. The resort has a great Entertainment Crew. I suggest that you visit the resorts web site. It should have information concerning the list of daily activities. We will be going to the Desire at Cabo (out first time there but went to Desire Cancun twice) and they have an activity schedule listed.
Service - while we haven't been to Hedo we have been to a few "upscale" resorts in Mexico and Desires' service is second to none. They take your order while your at the beach or by the pool. I swear one waitress had the eyes of an Irish bartender on St Patty's day because everytime the wife took the last sip of her drink, the waitress was coming over to see if she wanted another.
Wife safety - there is no doubt in my mind that she will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity by the all staff, from the kid who sweeps the seaweed to the guy that works the front desk. There are no singles at Desire and I never saw anyone roaming around the grounds unless they were hunting down a drink at four in the morning while the wife/GF/SO was fast asleep.

I'm a diver too and like you enjoyed the Hedo morning dives. I've yet to dive at Desire, as both times I've had scheduled dives we got blown off the water.

My thoughts too about Hedo. I'd walk Tam back to the room in the day too. Desire is completely different. You feel it right away.

So many questions.

The entertainment is low key too. It's usually around the main bar 6-9 pm ish and is a jazz or R&B type band playing. Nothing like the dinner shows at Hedo.
The games are very laid back too. They only do a handful of sexy games all week. And nothing like the body shot games at Hedo The hot tub does pick up from about 4-6pm. But again, kinda tame. Although the beds around the hot tub do get used now and then.

And I'm not so sure it depends on whether it's a takeover week or not. Both times we went was with a club takeover and the overt sexual energy was definately a notch or two below Hedo. But you won't have any trouble finding others that like to play

The theme nights are hit and miss. White and pj/lingerie night are the most popular. Others not so much.

Make sure you check out the off resort catamaran cruise. They fill it with 7 couples from Desire. It can turn into a pretty fun time with the right couples.

We usually need a week to recover from Hedo with all the partying and cough we'd always end up with. Desire has not left us with that run down feeling when we got home.

I have been lurking and posting on the desir forum for a while now. There is a great deal of information, however, I wanted to hear from those who have been there. I trust you and what you have to say more than someone on the website dedicated and run by the same company I am asking questions about. Call me what you will, but I just want to make sure my wife will have the time of her life.
I have been going to Mexico for 15 years now and have hit just about every 5 star and heap on the coast. I wanted to make sure that I am on the Upper scale for my wife and this trip. It is our 10th anniversary. It's gotta be special!

As it turns out the resort reports that they are sold out. There are two small lifestyle groups going while we will be there. I have been watching 4 yahoo groups dedicated to the resort as well. The majority of the people going when we will be there are lifestyle.

In truth, you could say that I am giving BOTH of us this trip as a 10th anniversary gift.

What do you mean you got blown off the water? Bad surf going out? High winds or great dives? We have been diving That area 1 - 2 times a year for the last 10 years and have only been postponed one dive due to high winds.

We are booked for the Cat cruise as well. I have heard that it is a blast.

The theme nights at Hedo were also hit and miss. When we were there, only the PJ night was attended. Even Toga night was weak as less than 25% of the folks dressed for the evening. Zammies and I have every intention on dressing for the theme nights and hitting the disco nightly.

Now, I have been getting conflicting reports on the matter of activities on the beach beds and pools. Some say that you can do nothing there even at night. Others have said that you will be asked to leave the resort if they ask you to stop more than once. And then others have stated that it was all out PDA on every corner day and night! Any info here?

Last time we were there (October 2006) there was no PDA by the pool. We had full-blown intercourse on the beach-side beds several times, usually in later afternoon and after the sun went down. Staff never said a word to us, except to ask if we wanted a refill on our drinks when we were done.

It's was pretty much Game On on the hot-tub beds whenever the roof was open. But, in reality, I didn't see any action up there until the sun went down.

We have been to Hedo II 7 times and Desire Cancun 4, with our 5th coming in July. Celtic and WildMiCouple are spot on with their comments. There is no comparison in the level of service. Desire is miles ahead of Hedo.

No PDA's at the pool is our expeirence, including Lifestyle group takeover weeks. Never had a problem with sex on the beach beds after dark. The hottub deck was always lively during our visits.

Desire can be very quiet during the day compared to Hedo. No lunch time spins, wet t-shirt contests, etc. Many guests at Desire also seem to like relaxing in the beach beds during the day so the pool can seem empty at time. According to some info on Desires site there are now 46 beach beds, there are only 114 rooms, so half the guests are "gone" during the day.

One more comment about the lack of PDA's at the pool and beach during the day. The pool is surrounded by the resturaunts. People eat at tables set up on one end of the pool deck all day. My guess is they do not want guests overtly banging away a few feet from folks sitting down for lunch.

The beach is patroled by Federalies day and night. We have seen them both walking the beach in groups of 3 or 4 and on four wheelers. Public sex is illegal in Mexico and I'm sure the resort does not want to run afoul of the law.

I can add that you won't run into any troubles up by the hot tub. Natasha gave me some really good head in the hot tub one day, and we also put on quite a show one evening in one of the hot tub area beds. You won't get interrupted by the staff if that's your concern. You may find a small audience has gathered when you're done though. lol! We never did any fooling around by the beach because there were often people walking by during the day from the resort next door (sometimes with children in tow!), and we didn't go there at night.

We also went into the disco playroom several times and always had a good time in there by ourselves. There was not a lot of swapping or group activities going on that we saw, just a lot of couples enjoying hot, sweaty sex a few inches from other couples doing the same thing. There was usually plenty going on towards midnight or later, not much before that.

And to put all of the above into context, we went during a regular (non-takeover) week. Can't wait to go back.

WOW! Great info. We are very excited about the trip. In just over two weeks, we are going to have one heck of a vacation.
I can understand the pool rules seeing that there are people eating right next to it. Not sure I would want to be eating while someond jungle fucks right next to me. Then again, Who knows, but why take the chance.
so the action spots are the hottub and the play room behind the disco. Beach beds at night are pretty safe too.

The sea was too rough. We've been three times to the Mayan Riviera(one a family trip) in the spring. I've scheduled 4 dives and all were cancelled. Kinda breezy that time of year. And you'll have a blast on the Cat cruise. They actually sail it lol. And being all the couples are from Desire......it'll be a nude cruise too

You'll figure out the pattern pretty quickly at Desire. Hang out at the pool or beach in the morning and early afternoon. About 4pm, most head up to the hot tub for a couple hrs. Around 6pm, the hot tub thins out as folks head to their room for a nap or to get ready for dinner. Then dinner, disco and either back to your room or the hot tub for some playing.

The hot tub is definately where it's at for sexual activity
