Body image and the Lifestyle

I'm not skinny girl, but I'm active, healthy, energetic, hourglass figure, etc. (Size 12 with 38DD's) I don't have to shop in plus size stores. I'm only slightly above my BMI, but I've had kids and those abs aren't going to be a six pack anytime soon without surgery. Where does average end and BBW begin?

My husband looks great, but he thinks his 33 inch waist is a bit to chunky for his comfort too. I think one of our biggest problems here is a bit of a fear that we are attractive enough. We've seen so many beautiful pictures of people on various sites. When we're naked and in the middle of things, we're very comfortable, but I don't like the idea of just being naked around large groups of people.

Am we just being neurotic here or what? Probably. Sigh.

This Lifestyle is more about your attitude then it is your body type. I see 100's of people each week in this Lifestyle and I can promise you that I don't see very many of those "beautiful picture" people at clubs and playing. There are some but a very small percentage of them.

What I do see is people that are comfortable with who they are and what they want in life.

Don't over think all of this. Go out and have fun and enjoy yourself.

It depends on what worries you about it.

If you are worried that swinging is all about beautiful people than don't be. Swingers tend to be pretty average across the board, with some very attractive and some with a face only a mother could love. America is over weight right now and so is the average swinger. I think there is a SLIGHT trend for swingers to be in better shape, but only slight. You will fit in just fine.

If you are worried about being rejected due to your weight/looks don't be worried you WILL be rejected. You will also be rejected for your skin color, your politics, your height, you laughing a joke they didn't think was funny etc. Part of swinging is getting over the rejections, some of which will seem outright bizarre, and having fun with people who you connect with.

As long as you have realistic expectations it should be fine.

Also you won't have to be naked around large groups of people if you don't want to, you see a lot of that of course, but not all swingers are exhibitionists, and clubs have private rooms for a reason.

You don't sound neurotic at all, you just sound like a normal woman who has not been to a lifestyle party or club yet. Trust me when you go you will realize that you fit in just fine. That was one of our greatest fears as well and once we went to our first party that fear was laid to rest in the first few seconds.

If you want to know what people look like at a party just to to a real big supermarket at 6pm and look around at all the people. There will be a few that are beautiful, there will be a few that are revolting and all the rest will fall somewhere in between. The difference at a party is they will all be dressed up sexy.

Regarding being naked in large groups of people, my wife is one of the beautiful people and I am fit for my age but both of us would just about rather stick sharp objects in our eyes than be naked in front of a large group of people. I am not sure what you are getting at there. Are you thinking that at parties everyone runs around naked? I have been to clubs where it was acceptable to go nude but it rarely ever happened that anyone would. Some people would go topless but very few if any were completely nude.

You'll see all kinds of body types in the lifestyle, so don't fret it. It's wide and diverse.

You'll find your "click" of people that your comfortable with and you'll fit in.
